If you have Quad-Views-Foveated installed you now need to enable the Quad Views option in the DCS VR settings, it looks like it’s off in your screenshots.

Can you also attach a DCS log file from when you are experiencing this issue.

I've found VD to be very stuttery with lots of random frame rate drops since the last patch (running on a Quest Pro). Have you tried Quest Link to see if that's any better?

The one named dcs.log

Your settings are really high. The log, along with the screenshots you've posted there, will help investigation.

I lower the preload radius to 40000, and turn on the Quad Views option, it seems fixed my problem but i still need do more testing.
but here is the log files!dcs.log

@achilles255057, that log is just when opening the launcher unfortunately and not the actual game. Can you take another one from when you actually open the game itself, preferably when actually flying. Thanks in advance.

Ok, couple of things of note, these may help, especially with multiplayer which is going to eat a lot more of your RAM.

  • You only have 32Gb of RAM. As a bandaid fix add a custom Windows page file. Needs to have both the Initial and Max values set to 32768. Make sure you have only one, remove any system managed ones, and make sure it's on your fastest SSD. Click Set, apply, and restart your machine.
  • Can you remove Tacview and see if this helps as well. We can revisit it if it's a confirmed issue and you really need it though.

The DCS log analyzer also had these comments:

  • Enable Full Screen mode.
  • Consider using DLAA.
  • Set Water to Medium or Low.
  • Upgrade your OS to Windows 11 to better support your CPU.

You mentioned VD as well being a possible problem. What codec, bitrate, and resolution do you have set there? When you display the VD performance overlay (click down on both controller thumbsticks) while flying what do the stats look like for network, encoding/decoding, and game? Anything in orange that could be indicative of problems elsewhere?

You are also using both Quad Views and OpenXR Toolkit. Just disable OpenXR Toolkit. Both OpenXR Toolkit and Quad Views have turbo modes, the Quad Views one is on by default, which can potentially mess with VD's SSW. Could you try creating the following file (and directory) if it does not already exist: "C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Quad-Views-Foveated\settings.cfg" and add the below entry into it. Any config changes here will require a DCS restart.

turbo_mode=0

See if this makes any difference at all, if not you can change that to a 1 to turn turbo mode back on again.

You can also remove the "--force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR" params from your Steam shortcut as well, everything is OpenXR by default now, and DCS will also load into VR as this is enabled in your config and your headset is connected so no need for the force_enable_VR.

There are issues with OXRTK and QVFR since the last update. Try disabling all open XR layers except QVFR.

MSAAx2 is quite taxing. Have you tried DLSS recently? It is a lot better than after the initial introduction. I use DLSS tweaks to change the preset to F and adust the quality scaling to 0.9.

Consider changing clouds to medium. Ultra is quite taxing.

I have also had lots of issues with VD since the last update and have been using Oculus link.

I'm with @sleighzy and @Qcumber (apart from the QVFR stuff, don't have experience with that)

Dialing eye candy to mostly medium and doubling that ram, probably will help out a lot

I found MSAA to be a huge detriment for performance with my 3060ti and simply left AA off entirely, upping PD somewhat instead (to the point I'd get no black flickers when panning my view)

Dunno if that GPU will do a good job with DLSS without ghosting, might wanna SS the resolution in OpenXR instead (since it doesn't tax the GPU with extra frame gen)

Just adding to what I said earlier. I switch between DLSS and no AA quite a bit. See if you can cope without AA. It depends on the situation. For me it looks ok for altitude with fast moving targets. DLSS can have ghosting in these situations. If I am running low and slow then DLSS works quite well.
