I'd like to know how it stacks up against ADATS/HUMRAAM.

Another impresive product of KBP Tula. Combined with the other "best air defence money can buy" - S-400 it will be pretty effective.

Tunguska on Steroids. That thing looks to be BAD ASS for sure and with a 20 KM range. Though the trash talking saleman forget that they rely on radar and there vehicle will put a smile on the face of some F-16CJ driver ready to shove a harm down it's barrel.

... or that HARM can be after a microwave oven nearby .. Or that HARM might be missing ENTIRE country all together and head for some microwave source tens or hundreds of kilometers from the Pantsir. Not to say that Pantsir, or for that matter, any system is perfect. Every system can be defeated, whether it is HARM or Pantser or ...

Pantsir is officially claimed to be able to intercept high-precision weapons. Sooo, it has its teeth against anti-radiation systems too. While its mobility, joint operation abilities and improved ECM protection offer great potential in ambush tactics. Overall, it looks quite well.

No, it doesn't - HARM is supersonic, small RCS - smaller than the suersonic cruise missiles it's meant to intercept, and in the case of attack by HARMs its less likely to be getting a hand-off from a more powerful ship-borne search radar.

Well it shouldn`t be so difficult to dodge the HARM missile. A mobile target constantly changing position and turnig on/off its radar will have no problem with it.

What kind of missile is on Pantser?

Newest HARM uses MMW radar ... so it might not be so easy. ;)

It's a command-guided missile similar to the one used on Tunguska originally, but I am fairly certain it has a more advanced fuze among other things (thus turning it from an anti-helicopter missile to a missile capable of intercepting cruise missiles etc)

What kind of missile is on Pantser?

The 57E6-E:

guidance: radar or electro-optical

max range: 20 km

altitude: 5m - 10 km

warhead: 20 kg (frag-HE and multiple continuous rod)

weight: 90 kg

speed: 4680 km/h

The missile has a bicalibre body in tandem configuration. The first stage is a booster, providing rapid acceleration within the first 2 second of flight, after it is separated from the sustainer-stage. The sustainer is the highly agile part of the missile and contains the high explosive multiple continuous rod and fragmentation warhead, contact and proximity fuses as also radio transponder and laser responder to be localised for guidance. The missile is not fitted with seeker to keep target engagement costs low. Instead high-precision target and missile tracking is provided via the systems multiband sensor system and guidance data is submitted via radio link for up to four missiles in flight. Missiles can be fired in at up to four targets but also salvos of two missiles at one target. Missile is believed to have a hit probability of 70-95% and have a 15 year storage lifetime in its sealed containers. Pantsir-S1 combat vehicles can fire missiles on the move

No, it doesn't - HARM is supersonic,

Well, your opinion is quite the opposite to the official info.

Effective engagement of all target types (foremost high-precision weapons and aviation means of their delivery) within the whole range of their combat application environments and counteraction capabilities, taking into account the prospects of their development till 2020–2025

Any signs of supersonic target type exclusion here?

small RCS - smaller than the suersonic cruise missiles it's meant to intercept,

I guess then its nose section is stealthy too!

What detection range are you talking here about anyway? :D

It seems that the missile's range is a bit optimistic, as is the speed you listed. I can get either speed or range but not both. Maybe the parameters in my simulation are not correct (I cannot simulate a bi-caliber body) which is why. I had to put a LOT of fuel into it to make it work though, which I guess makes sense since half of it is a booster :)
