"... you are flying a (comparatively) slow-moving helicopter the demands to update the outside world are reduced."

So in Ed Macy's world there is a simple equation: The slower the simulated vehicle, the higher the FPS.

Can anyone from ED confirm this so that my understanding of computer simulation gets to new depths ?

...well someone has to move the mud!!!

Well, the language is a bit unclear but as you say - technically true. Basically, there is nothing in the system that prevents moving "battlefield results" over to the next mission - it's just not very specific "battlefield results" - ie. it's not on the level of, say, the later Close Combat games where individual artillery craters and tank wrecks would carry over to the next mission. But the structure does definitely allow campaign designers to have the results of a mission carry over to the next stage in a more rough state.

I could swear I remember this happening in a LO campaign I downloaded (When Hogs Fly I think it was) If it was possible in LO, is it possible in BS?

Now gotta go read the review so this post isn't entirely off-topic. P=

EDIT: Read the review, it felt like a lot of it he was bashing the Ka-50, "Well the Apache team figured out how to do this" etc., but having him say that it was phenomenal, as has been mentioned, is probably really good, though when he points out the limitations that might not be so good... =/

The KA-50 helicopter technology and the _simulation_ of said technology are two different things...

The KA-50 _is_ less technologically advanced (in some ways) than the Apache.

LP

modules:

F5-E / A4-E / A-10A / AJS-37 / SA-342 / UH-1H / Ka-50 / Mi-8 / CA

would buy:

OH-58 /AH-64A / AH-1 / Sepecat Jaguar / F-111
