Best A/G load for specific targets

Hi,

Not a lot of experience with DCS but I've been trying to learn the F15E and I'm slowly getting to grips with it.

I was trying to attack a moving armour convoy with MK82's and failing miserably.

I was wondering what people thoughts were on what the best types of bombs were for the following:

Buidings

Stationary vehicles

Moving vehicles

Ships

Buildings: Any weapon except guns 

Stationary vehicles: Any weapon (depends on what kind of vehicle, the more dangerous it is the more you want to use a long range weapon)

Moving vehicles: Preferably laser guides bombs unless you are good at aiming then you can also use dumb bombs and guns

Ships: The bigger the better. If moving laser guided bombs prefered. If it's a dangerous ship, leave it to dedicated anti ship planes

Only thing I will add is that for hardened targets, for example the DCS Ammo Dumps, you'll need either the GBU-24 with delayed fusing or the GBU-31(v)3/b. Now, whether the delayed fusing on the GBU-24 or the tail fusing on the GBU-31(v)3/b is working properly on a given DCS build is an entirely different story.

It's hard to anticipate their position with dumb bombs so you'd have to be lower for better accuracy and timing, which can also put you in danger if these are armored vehicles. Best to do a ripple of singles down the road line through all the vehicles. Standard Mk's may not be effective against armor esp. if not hit directly. If you can choose other weapon try CBU-97. GBUs are best, but they're usually one bomb for one HVT.

My personal choice:  Buildings, Infrastructures, Ships : JDAMS. With this weapons, seeing the target is not mandatory as with the LGB bombs.

Stationary and moving vehicles: CBU97.  If moving, then try release the weapons in ripple (all of them, with release interval) and coming from "behind" the column, flying in the same direction, my preferred release mode is LOFT if SAM units are present.

Don't bother with CBU87 or MK20 Rockeye... CBU97 is the best of them all.

CBU97 is also the best choice for DEAD missions: look for Holbeach tactics here:
