Has anyone noticed that since the last update when you start the Vipers Engine it sounds weird? The sound has definitely changed. It almost sounds like something is shutting down (not the JFS) while starting. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed. It kinda kills the engine start sound which I Absolutely Love.

I think it is exactly that. Once the JFS gets up to speed, you kick the throttle into start. So, as the engine accelerates up to speed, the JFS is not required anymore and winds down. I think it is pretty cool.

Cheers!

OK, just to clarify, I worked on the F-16 Viper for years and was part of many startups and launches and the real F-16 does not sound like that. I fully understand how it works. DCS makes it sound like the engine is dying as it's ramping up to speed when the JFS kicks offline. If it is supposed to be the sound of the JFS kicking offline, then the sound is way over done in my opinion. I don't know if it's just my install of it or not? Just wanted to know if anyone else noticed it.

Im not aware of any changes, please include your dcs log after retrying so we can look for clues.

If you are using any unofficial mods or edits please remove them and run a repair of DCS

thank you
