Hi, I wanted to ask if any of you have a diagram of the profile and top view of the F-5E and F-5A, even in overlay to see the differences in shape and size.

cpu:I7-6700k Z170 16GB Ram DDR4 Gtx 1080 8Gb DDR5 11GBs SSD 500 Gb 2 HDD 1Tb Evga supernova G2 850w Case Bequiet series 800 Silent base Win 10 pro 64 bit

You can overlay those two. I highly recommend using two separate layers in Inkscape for that, third for your scribbles and lines.

You know you could just google for "F-5E blueprint" and "F-5A blueprint" and find what you are looking for within seconds...

Speaking of pinterest, here's a set of uBlock lines to... improve the pinterest experience in Google Search. Should be easy to also have it for DDG:

Best I could do, F-5A and F-5E

F-5E is longer and has a wider wingspan. Wing strakes(LEXs) were enlarged, and cockpit was moved forward 12 inches in order to rebalance the airframe. A quick way to ID an F-5A vs and F-5E is to look at the position of the centerline fuel tank. If its forward and nearly touching the NLG then its an A.

From the top or bottom - the LEXs are the biggest giveaway, if there's an angle then it's an E or F, if it's straight it's an A or B. Small angle then it's an early E, sharper angle and it's an E with IHQ (like our E-3).

From the sides - apart from the tank you mentioned - you can also generally tell by the size of the metallic portion at the engine nozzles. On an A it's typically much smaller, while on an E it extends well forward of the back of the rudder.
