Hello,
Problem with mission 7 : I've tried the mission 3 times, the GBU31 systematically misses the target. I've checked the MGRS and Lat,Lon coordinates, the parameters to be modified for the bomb, everything is ok but the bomb always misses !
Am I the problem? I've watched a YouTube video (https://youtu.be/WY93s1R1_38?si=U0OgX_3hV7Id761e) and I don't see any difference with my parameters and the mission control.
I'd like to know if anyone is experiencing this problem... it would reassure me!

Thanks

Just had the same problem, also the mission asks for 1 sec delay but I can set maximum 240ms

Edit: just checked tacview and I hit the target perfectly, but still I got the message that I didn't

With M07 - I have no idea what happens and I can't find a fix for that no matter what I do. Though the important part is that the mission progresses and the attack is just a prelude to something else.

Now two general notes about the TacView: for scripted campaigns I would advise against using it too much. First of all, it is known to mess up the AI system and some triggers, I had numerous reports of mission not progressing with TacView ticked ON in options and working normally without it for some people.

Secondly, in scripted campaigns and due to immense AI stupidity sometimes we as mission makers have to use different tricks, like despawning units and spawning new ones, making some invulnerable or exploding others just in case AI misses etc. So if you start analyzing what happened you are likely to find inconsistencies that in fact are there to make the mission playable / enjoyable and in line with the storyline... so just my 2 cents on that.

Coming back to the M7 target - a known bug that I cannot fix and am not even sure why it happens as everything is set up properly, so don't worry.
As for the tank in M8 - are you sure it was your target? Maybe it wasn't and was set to invulnerable for some reason... see above 🙂

Thanks for your detailed reply. I will try effectively without Tacview. Now I have finished this fabulous campaign without other problem, and I am trying Artic Thunder - the F16 version ;-).

After I must plan to learn F18 one day or another ! 😉

In any case, thank you for your work on all these really well-realized and captivating campaigns!

I also didn't hit the target. I suspect it has something to do with the INS-drift. Even with the GPS, the INS can drift off enough to make you not hit the target.

On a side note : is it realistic to release GPS bombs blindfolded without visually confirming the target?

If it is a static target (like in this case - a factory) with cross-referenced and confirmed intel, definitely yes. Perhaps it is linked to the drift, if I have some spare time I'll investigate it further.

The entire idea of GPS-guided bombs is to still be able to hit the target through cloud cover.
The alternative is using Paveways, which won’t work through clouds so you’d have to go underneath - exposing you to all sorts of nastiness such as SHORAD/AAA.

Allright, I got this sorted. I compress time quite frequently during transits where nothing much happen. I've figured out the more I compress time, the more drift I get. I played this mission through WITHOUT time compression, and the bomb hit the target on the spot.

So sadly no more time compression, but that's an ED problem, not Baltic Dragon's 🙂
