I was engaged by IR from Rapucha LST. Likely MANPADS. MWS did nout sound. Countermeasures , set to AUTO, did not release flares. System was ON and audio was at max. There was no smoke trail I had no idea I was even hit. There was no sound in aircraft, there was no shake of cockpit, no nothing. Except the fire warning light on engine. Experience tottally devoid of experience. I don't know how SA is acheoeved when engaged by IR MANPADS, as there is no aids.

Whats up with that?

The Rapucha has never engaged me with missiles, only with it's cannons. Unless you have a track, I'm 99% sure you got hit by the cannons.

The MWS does quite reliably detect IR missiles.

Try to reproduce it and find out what actually happened.

Rapucha can't hit me from 10km away, when I am at 12,000 with AAA. The mission defbrief stated I was hit by Igla. But in any case, there was no indication of hit. No bang sound, no shaking of aircraft. The only indication was the sudden warning light. Tottally sterile experience. I have a general problem in DCS, of just not seening the threats and targets. I don't see anything! They are so small. Pixel sized, not drawn, or otherwise invisible. Unless I am within 1000 meters of threat. Ships should be clearly vibile from distance, yet they are not. TPOD at max zoom out, scanning is not picking up, untill I am withon 7000-5000 meters. With naval targets, they engage you at 20-30km. I have this mod, FNS Tornio. It engages me at 20-30 km with IR missiles, and I have no warning whatsoever or any situational awareness that I am under threat.

That doesnt sound normal.

Remove all mods and run a repair. Upload a track and a video so we can exactly compare what you see with what we see.

MWS has a blind spot beneath the aircraft similar to your RWR, if you were flying directly above the MANPAD when it was fired then your MWS would never have detected it and your auto CMS will not go off, if you have Tacview I would go back and look at it to see what angle the missile got you from. It don't explain the lack of any feedback from the impact though.

The visibility may have been caused by Visibility Global set to LOW. I changed it to Med. Hopefully that may solve issue, without FPS drop. I always thought that Visibility global is for terrain.

Actually that's not 100% accurate one of the MWS sensors points directly down and the sensors on the wingtip are at an angle that points down slightly.

The exact field of view of the system is classified, I'd certainly hope its not perfectly accurately simulated in DCS.

Don't think I (or anyone else) said anything that can’t be seen by looking visually at an A-10 but thanks for the comment.  LOL

You didn't, I was agreeing with you.
