Loading a static template corrupts file causing the .miz file to be 0 bytes

As the title suggests.  Several times importing a static template into an existing .miz file corrupts the file causing it to have 0 bytes, luckily the automatic backup system saves the day (thank you ED).

Is this just me or is it more widespread?

It could happen if a template requires a mod you don't have (or a different version of that mod).

Open the template file (.STM) in any text editor and search for the "requiredModules" string.

Indeed this is the problem - my bad for not reading the Required Mods in the DETAILS section.

Many thanks!

However, if you try and load a mission (.miz) and you do not have the required module, it still loads and doesn't corrupt the file...

official modules are always present and placeable on the ME, they reside on the CoreMods folder and this allows you to edit missions even for aircrafts which you have not purchased.

True, however if I download a mission designed for a MOD that I do not have (eg F-22) I receive a warning that the MOD is required but there is no corruption of the file.

Agree, DCS really needs a better handling of the Static Templates, it should never corrupt a mission no matter what.
