Well, it’s moot now since this last update broke landing on the carrier and won’t be fixed for quite some time.

”fixed internally for next update”

I have to seriously wonder if any testing is performed at all before updates are released.  It’s been a running joke for quite some time that they add a feature and break 10 others.

sorry for the sarcasm, but come on, it takes 5 minutes to test something like this.

It broke landing??? Wtf? I haven't updated in about 6 months.

As long as you call inbound to the carrier it's not broken.  If you don't, then yes you can get a CTD on landing with current build.

And that's why the "5 minutes" of testing probably didn't catch this.  I automatically called in when I was testing after seeing reports of this and I had no problem landing.  Until someone figured out this was cause I couldn't recreate it.  Once I stopped calling in then I could reproduce it.

Call in for every flight or just the first flight?

In other words, if you have a multiplayer wing and 12 players coming in to land, if the first one calls in, can everyone land without a crash or does every flight have to call in independently?

No idea.  When I was testing it was just me.  My guess would be at least the lead for each flight, but possibly each aircraft.

Call inbound then and please leave this thread alone, cause it's about IFLOLS visibility, mind you.

Would love a response from ED on this past Newy's initial response of blowing us off about this at the beginning of the thread. This issue isn't about "people's preferences" as he said, the meatball is literally unusable in VR until you get in close.

I have highlighted it to the team again, especially for VR but we need some free dev time for the lighting tasks and we do not have that currently.

Appreciate the response and forwarding it to the team again Newy.  Hopefully they can find the time at some point soon.

@BIGNEWY   Sorry for ruffling your feathers but it's frustrating. Especially when you see downloads listed in this post from  outside users/modders from a couple of years ago that still works now with the latest build of DCS, not perfect but  usable.
