There was a question about Heatblur's realisation of M61 gun.

The weapon is provided by Eagle Dynamics with Heatblur's own tune. For F-15, F/A-18 and F-16 modules ED used materials on M61 resulting in a such dispersion:

In HB's version it seems like almost a laser:

Looks different. 🤔

You gotta provide actual data not pictures. I’m sure buried somewhere there is a pass-fail specification for the Tomcat’s gun. Find that, reproduce the test as best you can in DCS, and then go from there.

keeping in mind that the new F-35 DCS is less…..mmmm concerned about perfection.

I asked a specific question. And I hope to get an answer from some HB dev (I see that they have time to answer in many minor topics).

Thanks for your unwanted advice. 🤗

If you use the search function, you will see that this topic has been discussed quite extensivly, both by ED and HB.

Is it possile the same gun, mounted in similar way in heavier and more stable F-14 would be so much more accurate then F-15, F-16, F/A-18?

If not - a compromise should be made because unified standard throught the DCS is more important then slight discrepancy in two documents.

Well, the best advise I can give you is to look through the topics linked yourself and build your own opinion with all the material and documents presented in these topics.

In short: the community claimed for years the dispersion was quite a bit off (CPE too large, leading to the M61 being far less accurate in DCS than it is/was IRL), while ED was adamant they modelled it correctly. After years of bickering, ED had to confess the community was correct and they fixed the dispersion.
