RealDCSpilot Posted February 2 Posted February 2 1. use NVcleanstall and only install Nvidia driver, HD audio and PhysX https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-nvcleanstall/ 2. get Nvidia Profile Inspector https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases 3. do this (and check and maybe revert former settings for the Digital Combat Simulator Black Shark profile) 5 2 i9 13900K @5.5GHz, Z790 Gigabyte Aorus Master, RTX4090 Waterforce, 64 GB DDR5 @5600, PSVR2, Pico 4 Ultra, HOTAS & Rudder: all Virpil with Rhino FFB base made by VPforce, DCS: all modules

No need to remember anything. BTW: really works for me as well. Condition: green
jhonsip Posted July 30 Posted July 30 (edited) Thanks! That’s a solid setup. I’ll use NVCleaninstall to keep the install clean, and will check the DCS profile in NVIDIA Profile Inspector as suggested. Appreciate the tip! Edited August 1 by jhonsip

Add the below line to your C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Config\autoexec.cfg file to set the DLSS preset, this is still C by default. You will need to create this file if it does not already exist. DLSS_Preset = 'K' You can add this line as well if you don’t want DLSS applied to MFDs and HUD to keep them sharp with no ghosting for greater control. Hiob Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Quick question: I tried DLSS Swapper today and changing the DLSS runtime for DCS was suspiciously easy. Is there a way to verify it is actually working and using the correct runtime? "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

Just enable the dlls overlay at dlss swapper options and you will see the version thait is running in this moment, with the preset and the scale 1 1 Intel i9 10850k - MSI Tomahawk 490z - 64 GB DDR4 3000 - HP Reverb G2 - MSI optix Mag321curv 4k monitor - MSI RTX 3080ti - Winwing Orion Throttle base plus F18 stick

That was kinda obvious, now I feel stupid…. But nevertheless it worked. Piece of cake actually. 1 1 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

You can also look in your DCS log file as it will output the preset being used. 2 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2

Thank you, I just wanted a quick verification that the DLSS swapper worked (which it did) and the Nvidia Driver didn’t overwrite it somehow. (Which it didn’t). I guess there are several paths to success. 2 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

You need to create it if it doesn't exist as per my instructions. Also make sure to use something like Notepad++ as Notepad can add a ".txt" extension to the end of the filename which you may not see if your Windows is hiding file extensions. You'll then wonder for ages why it isn't doing anything EDIT: Here's one I prepared earlier. autoexec.cfg Edited yesterday at 03:12 AM by sleighzy 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2

At least one of this lines found will include the word “preset” on that same line, and either be ‘C’ or ‘K’. If it’s ‘C’ then that is the DCS default and means it hasn’t picked up this change. I’ll edit this comment tomorrow with an actual example log line. There are a couple of other presets you can use as well, eg ‘F’ and ‘J’. Can experiment if you want to see if they look better for you. F is older and doesn’t use the new DLSS4.
