GGTharos Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 No ... a lot of things have been mentioned, including a 0.5m^2 RCS figure by an official, but nothing solid at all. Like Pilotasso said ... this thing's just a prototype, it's too early to even guess, probably. So, the biggest question, anybody but Carlo Kopp have estimates on it's RCS? I know that part of the craft isn't "finished" yet, but it would help in my Russian fan-boy arguments :p [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
IronsightSniper Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Ah, still quite large in my opinion, I'm just too impatient to wait until they finish it, that's all. I hope the kinematics they got from sacrificing stealth pays off.

Antartis Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 (edited) PICTURES: Indian officials get up close to new-look PAK FA fighter By "] Russia has conducted a flight demonstration with its prototype PAK FA fighter for a delegation of Indian defence ministry and industry officials. Held at Ramenskoye aerodrome near Moscow on 31 August, the 10min display was made in support of talks over the bilateral development by Moscow and New Delhi of a new fifth-generation fighter. Indian officials inspected Sukhoi's lone PAK FA following the demonstration, which included low-speed passes and high angle-of-attack manoeuvres. The aircraft, which will be followed by two more prototypes before the end of the year, is pictured with new-look camouflage markings. The new fighter programme is a topic of discussion by an Indo-Russian commission for military industrial co-operation, along with another to produce a multi-role transport aircraft with a 20t payload capacity. New Delhi is insisting on executing both programmes as joint ventures, with equal sharing of investment and workshare. Russia's air force has a requirement for 250-300 next-generation T-50 fighters to enter use from 2015-16, while India plans to buy between 200 and 250 of the joint design. This should use a common airframe and engines, but have its on-board systems and weapons tailored for their individual needs. First flown in January, the PAK FA prototype is intended to de-risk features such as the use of low-observable materials and thrust-vectoring engines with supercruise performance, plus internally carried weapons. Russian sources suggest a pre-production batch of between six and 10 aircraft will be built to support future testing of the type, with the nation's air force expected to launch operational trials in Lipetsk around 2012-13. http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2010/09/07/347018/pictures-indian-officials-get-up-close-to-new-look-pak-fa.html 20t payload capacity?? I believe that it is of the press error, it is excessive 20 tons for fighting. zakobi Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Is anything said about how the second seat in the two-seater will be placed? Raised like the su-30mki, or more like the f-15E/F-18F etc.?
bumfire Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 The more I see of this aircraft, the more I fall in love with it.
zakobi Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Anyone knows why the backpart of the engines aren't covered in the same way as the rest of the body? Same with the su-27 family
T.Goat Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Looks great in the air, but awkward on the ground. Needs the main landing gear moved back and shortened, bigger vertical stabilizers, and maybe bigger engines. And then I would have to change my shorts

Get Photoshop to your hands and let's do that :D What tools do you use to remove it (I`m not that good in PS :) ) and will the picture look like there hasn`t been any inscription on it? Note that this is for personal use only, wallpapers etc. My goal is not to steal someone`s photos. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Boberro Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 To remove such things I use often patch and other tools. I don't know Adobe's English terminology, cause I use Polish. Sometimes I even think 5th gen stealth tactics must be used in make up and photography and the editing afterwards, in order to turn a real life monster into a magazine princess. :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
