Any new pics? Shape differences vs the first prototype, perhaps?

did anything changed on the aircraft?

Externaly y can see two funtional eos; new vertical tails; that also look taller; removed data probe near the cannon; pattern on nose section where the radar will be located; some mods to the movable lerx mechanism.

I don't think the shape of the tails is changed.

other differencies are as well:

one piece main canopy - T-50-1 had a strenghtening bar down the middle of it

the small dome behind the cockpit is glass now (R2-D2 unit? :D)

some riveting on the fuselage to wing pods, suggesting they are operational on this 2nd prototype.

Fifth-gen fighter PAK FA goes supersonic

The Russian prototype fifth-generation fighter jet has broken the sound barrier for the first time during a test flight.

The supersonic flight for the PAK FA took place last week at the test range near Komsomolsk-on-Amur in Siberia and was deemed a success by engineers.

The characteristics of the PAK FA are not being disclosed by the Defense Ministry. It is expected to have a maximum speed over Mach-2 and an ability to super-cruise, i.e. to fly at supersonic speed for a long time.

The Sukhoi aircraft company has so far built two prototypes of the advanced combat vehicle for flight tests, which are scheduled to be complete by 2012. The jet will be produced in series starting in 2015, with some 150 units total to be supplied to the Air Force.

I wonder if there's a journalist mistake or there's something else going on. AFAIK the T-50-1 is being tested at Zhukovski near Moscow while T-50-2 just made a couple of flights. Which aircraft went supersonic or where did it go?

Russian official sources says only “the supersonic flight for the PAK FA took place ‘last week’” and “both prototypes undergo a program of flight tests at supersonic speeds”.

But unofficial sources claims it was T-50-1.
