Are there street light or light post that can be used in night ops so you can see something on the airfield ?

Only found 1 and it is very weak light.

Any suggestions ?

Massun92's asset pack had a bunch of stuff with lights but most of those were cut from the official DCS version. Maybe for performance reasons, I'm not sure why really. You might still be able to get all the "lit" versions from his pack.

Which one are you using now? In DCS there's "M92 NF-2 LightOn" which works ok I think, but still not super bright.

Yep that is the one that I tried. Very Weak. VPC ones don't work anymore either.

I usually place a couple of Tigrs (the car) on the ground. They have sufficiently bright lights for most uses. They simply look silly in others.

Easy fix for VPC not working (I'm assuming you're getting a fake omnil ight error).

  1. Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Bazar\shaders\model
  1. Duplicate both: fake_omni_lights2.fx and fake_spot_lights2.fx
  1. Rename the duplicates: fake_omni_lights.fx and fake_spot_lights.fx respectively.

Those Tigrs are great to place in certain positions and illuminate or mark things, but they dont work anymore. In fact, no ground vehicle cast any light right now. Is that a bug?? Cause I hope so, so it gets fixed eventually.

Seems to be the case. Their lights still turn on but they don't cast any actual light.

But in the meantime use some of Massun's Flood lights that ED has implemented into the game. Those work.

Is it possible to get these VPC lights to work? Would be nice for landing at night, it's pitch black on that platform at night. I tried the fix in this thread by renaming .fx files, but it didn't work.

they work for me, just be sure to use as ground unit and not as static object

maybe you are setting them up as static objects, the lights work when used as ground units type fortification

Thanks, Rudel_chw that defiantly worked, now my only problem is editor won't let me put a ground unit on the floating dock cuz it's like a ship. It let me put a static on there but not a ground unit. In the pic I put them on shore/ground and they worked! Nice!! Thanks

I ended up putting 4 generator flood lights on shore and made it a full moon night. It helps a lot. I seen there was a tool called DML toolbox that sounds like I could spawn the generator lights on the float barge which would be perfect. Just gotta figure out how to use it. I will have to find the thread that talks about this. I know nothing about map making, just basic stuff.

One of my problems with the DML toolbox is I don't even know where to put the .lua files so the mission editor reads them lol or what scripts I need to spawn the ground objects/lights onto the ship/barge

Got it to work. Ground unit light spawned on a ship unit, thanks to the DML Toolbox. Very cool!

Just made new texture to try to make the generators look like US army stuff, even though I think there was never that type. At least they blend in better than the original fancy ones.
