I recently purchased the Kiowa mod, but did not see that my miles increased and they did not show up in the miles history. So I requested support from ED. I was told the following: "This product does not participate in the loyalty program...."

I then complained about the fact that ED miles are a huge incentive and this policy will now impact future purchasing decisions dramatically.

They responded with: "Not all developers want to lose income and participate in the loyalty program, sorry..."

So my question is: How does a developer lose income with regards to ED miles? The support team does not discuss financial issues.

Hi plott1964

The third party does not participate in the miles program it is up to the developer to decide if they want to, only modules with the miles under the price participate.

The ED miles program is a nice way of giving a little back to the user, we are looking at other ways to reward loyalty and we hope to share more with you all in the future.

thank you

Thanks for the info. But, that doesn't answer the question: How does a developer lose income?

This is pretty old news. If you use the Miles you've acquired from ED modules, and pay 3rd party in full by those Miles. The 3rd party won't see a dime.
It was years ago many 3rd parties left the Miles program. None of the campaigns participate now, and a few 3rd party modules still participate, (probably due to the fact they were part of it back in the days), while the 3rd party themselves have left. It says clearly on the front shop page of the various modules how many Miles you receive.
This is not on ED, and Polychop stated before the release that the Kiowa will not participate in the Miles program and not participate in the Free to Play.
Cheers!

Understood. I hope it's true that they are looking at ways to reward loyalty.
