It works but the game and decode latencies are quite high so is not likely to be a smooth experience. There are no details if DCS settings which would help. I imagine that QVFR would help a lot with the latencies. Bitrate was limited to less than 150 Mbps which suggests an unstable connection. It would be interesting to see this via meta link cable and a higher bitrate, and perhaps more stable connection.

I've been reading the comments and Rico mentioned trying foveated rendering  and having better results.

I would very much like to see that video.  Hopefully soon.

Are you talking with VD? With link and set at 72 in app. Setting can pretty much all be on high and it never misses a beat.

There is no SS active (PD 1.0 and Resolution 100%), the settings are not maxed out (e.g. Lod 0.6, Visible Range medium) and the 9070 XT is not able to deliver stable 72 fps. This is not acceptable imo.

I have mine set lod 2, visible range high, scenery and forest detail at 85. Resolution 1.2 in app and  it never leaves 72. Rock solid. Very acceptable.

On your side it is.

But what we see in the Youtube Video is not, imo.

Hey Guys,

I made the video with 9070 XT, it was a bit in a rush to get out anything regarding this new GPU performing in DCS VR.

As already pointed, there is networking issue and it's true, I accidentally forgot to plug the cable and was on Wifi. After plugin in, the latencies are improved. It's noticeable.

Right now, I'm doing more testing and want to put out video with different settings, variety of maps and multiplayer experience as well.

Also I was trying foveated rendering and that is huge improvement. I'll try to test FSR4 with optiscaler to see what it can do.

I can not judge the performance relative to other GPUs whether is underperforming or overperforming, I'm trying(and will continue) to show what can be achieved with this GPU so you can make decision whether it's worth your money or not. I was not in the position to buy the latest and greatest and this one was fitting in my budget and that is what I'm gonna work with.

Anyways, if you have any question regarding this GPU or suggestion regarding my next video, I'm all ears.

Thank You!

Thanks Rico1202. I'm loving the 9070. Haven't tried forevated rendering (guess I haven't seen a reason to) can't wait to see your video using optiscaler and fsr4. I don't see ED implementing it for a looonnng time. Don't know if I'd use that either but nice for AMD users to have options. Great content, keep it up.

Juste receive my 9070 XT globally the same settings as Rico but with Taa for anti-aliasing and with quad view.

Approximately 50 fps in apache over Aleppo.

I tried optiscaler but the results wasn't good for the fps and image quality.

You should try No AA, turn Upscaling/AA off, Textures high, visibility medium/high, everything else low. LOD's 0.6/0.7, Ultra in VD, Quad views, Shadows Medium, pre-load 50,000.

I'd like to hear back about framerates with those settings! 🙂

I'm currently trying to get more performance out of my sons rig with a 9070xt.
Biggest improvements yet:
Adrenalin 25.4.1 which was released yesterday. This boosted performance quite a lot
Using VirtualDesktop instead of MetaLink and SteamLink. This not only boosted performance, but also image quality due to the better codec.

Other findings:
The AMD drivers on the RX9070xt are heavily relying on the CPU in VR compared to a NVidia RTX3090.
The 9070xt it self doesn't seem to be the bottleneck, but the way how the driver works.
