sepruda Posted March 9 Posted March 9 After having hit the first target with a GBU, I have to assist in destroying 2 technicals near a mosque. Issue is I have no idea where the mosque, the JTAC or the technicals are. I kept my eye on the C4-D4 grid when weasel 32 rifled, but never saw an explosion or any smoke. There should at least be some option to ask your wingman to do a talk-on or something, the mission wouldn't progress so I had to quit. Pretty frustrating.
Solution baltic_dragon Posted March 11 Solution Posted March 11 Hey! I tried to write a talk-on, but in such a dense urban environment it ultimately made no sense, as it didn't really help. The important part here is good situational awareness - once you see Habu at mission start you should be tracking him on your TPod, which helps. There is also only one large mosque next to where the action takes place. Finally, you can always turn the labels on to help with spotting (I am usually using neutral dots not to make things too easy, but you will never get the image quality that could rival what you'd see from the pit in real life). Also, it is almost impossible to add talk-on options etc to all the engagements in all the missions due to the sheer number of triggers, extra voice lines etc... unfortunately, there are some DCS limitations. I understand your frustration, but that is the nature of DCS I guess, sometimes you just need to fly a mission more than once to get max out of it. For more information, please visit my website. sepruda Posted March 24 Author Posted March 24 I didn't think of turning on labels, but that is of course an option. Thanks. 1
baltic_dragon Posted March 24 Posted March 24 You can do this on the more difficult missions, and the dot-neutral works great - IMHO it is more realistic as you'll never get resolution on screen or in VR similar to what you'd get in real life. szymixzmb Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Just finished it. I also had an issue with spotting all the action but this is the moment when you make yourself a better pilot. Every mission of each campaign I didn't pass at first, I learned something new. E.g. in this mission I tried to correct the GBU strike point by the little and I missed so decided to do it again. But when you think about it why should you correct pre-planned strike in real life? Also taking account the impact angle of JDAM and the position from the aircraft, if you want to hit a building that high at 60 degrees you need to point behind him.
