-Scrat- Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Hi, I have just bought a new computer on which I have installed DCS. Everything was great in terms of performance etc, until I installed the Track IR 5 with 5.5.3 software and this was the beginning of all the trouble. When I used the Track IR software, the trackclip was working fine, however when I used the TrackclipPro, it was not smooth and I experienced lots of jittering. I went onto the Track IR forum where someone mentioned that I had to revert the soft to 5.4.2 to avoid the lack of smoothness with TrackclipPro. I did this, and the smoothness problems disappeared however I still have the jittering issue, which I do not have with the normal Trackclip. On top of that, I now have big performance issues on DCS with lots of stuttering, whether or not I use the Track IR. I have been doing simulation for 10 years using track ir and this has never happened before. Any idea how to resolve these issues? It's driving me crazy!!! Thanks for your help. Have a great day Scrat

speed-of-heat Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Try 60hz? Also try it without TIR enabled SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat

Whatever I do in terms of settings eg. 60 or 120.. I still have the Track IR jittering when using the TrackclipPro, with Trackclip it's very stable. TIR your mean Track IR right ? with or without Track IR software running it doesn't change anything. I have tried to put 60hz but no change, there's still stuttering in the game. It's really weird and it happens randomly, sometimes it is smooth and all of a sudden when I reload the game for instance, it becomes stuttering. e.g. If I set to 60hz, I get some drops between 45-50, and then suddenly it gets back to 60 with image distortion when I look around. If I set to 120, I get some drops around 90, and suddenly it gets back to 120, again with image distortion when I look around. When I set it to unlimited, depending on the scenery density, the FPS can go up to 160-170 inside the cockpit fairly stable, and then suddenly I get some drops around 100-120. Hope this is clear. It's driving me crazy, I've never ever had these issues on my previous configuration so don't know what to do I don't know if it can help, here's my current configuration : Asus Z890 Extreme motherboard Intel Ultra Core 9 285K ASUS 5090 RTX TUF RAM 64Gb Screen ASUS PG42UQ with Overclocking at 138hz Windows 11 Any clue ? speed-of-heat Posted March 16 Posted March 16 TIR = Track IR, yes. When you say it doesn't change anything do you mean it behaves with out any drops, I assume so? screen over clocking is never a great idea, in this kind of game and often will introduce artefacts ... just throwing stuff at the wall : Try a different USB port check to see if there are any other devices that are conflicting, remove every USB device and add them back in one at a time see if it starts to "happen" has the pro clip had any damage? have you updated the proclip driver recently ? have you tried rolling it back ? if it's a new windows 11 installation, make sure you have turned of memory integrity and the VMP (Options to optimize gaming performance in Windows 11 - Microsoft Support) hope that helps SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
speed-of-heat Posted March 16 Posted March 16 core parking can introduce stuttering, so make sure that is turned off (I use ParkControl – Tweak CPU Core Parking and More) you can do it by hand, this is just easier, not sure why this would only impact TIR .. but worth doing make sure that your usb devices do not have power management enabled , windows has a tendency to tuirn things off (do this via device manager) make sure you have your power profile set to ultimate performance control panel > hardware& Sound > power options USB HOTPLUG is off in game ? BitMaster Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I would, before you may waste more time, try your TiR setup on another PC to verify it is working properly and not defect. Once you know it is 100% in working order troubleshoot your PC further. 1 Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X

104th_Money Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Make sure you have completely uninstalled all of the TrackIR and Natural Point folders before reinstalling the 5.4.2 software...You can google the post about the full instructions. The simple uninstall app will not work. Also, make sure you have Windows Defender exceptions for TrackIR in 2 different places. You can google that part also. -Scrat- Posted March 17 Author Posted March 17 Hi, @speed-of-heat @BitMaster @SharpeXB @104th_Money Thank you so much for help ! I really appreciate it... After 48 hours of checks, here are my findings : Regarding the stuttering in DCS, indeed it was coming from the Core reaching 100%. As soon as I changed the core affinity the stuttering stopped immediately. About my Track IR, jittering is unfortunately still there when using TrackclipPro I have tried the Track IR (TrackclipPro) on anther computer and it seems to be better, almost no jittering. Any clue ? Once again thank you so much for your great help. Scrat
104th_Money Posted March 17 Posted March 17 @-Scrat- i did a hardware upgrade and clean reinstall on my pc recently and noticed TrackIR/track clip pro stuttering after installing latest software, I think 5.5.2 or 3? Was using 5.4.2 with no issues up until that point. I got mine semi-reasonable with the latest software by setting custom smoothing and speed but I plan on giving the downgrade a in the near future. You can determine if the stuttering is from TIR by just looking straight ahead. If u have stutters like that, it’s not TrackIR, I got my stutters only when looking around which indicates it is most likely TrackIR issues. Also, set your fps to either 60 or 120. TrackIR polls at 120 so u need to have fps set to either for it to work properly. This seems plausible but I can’t tell any difference when trying this. It always seems smooth to me regardless. If anything I can perceive the lower frame rate at 60 vs the higher 117 I have capped on my screen. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
cgrxman Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Are the red IR LEDs illuminated on the TrackIR base unit even with TrackClipPro selected? I had an issue where even though I selected TrackClipPro, they were still lighting up. This resulted in poor performance of TrackIR (reflections, maybe?). To fix, I pressed the TrackClip button, then back to TrackClipPro. LEDs out and it took care of the jittering for me. For me, the stuttering was another issue and it seemed to be related to WinWing's SIMAPP.
