AlphaOneSix Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Aside from the pilot being unconscious, injured or dead, could you give me those reasons? I'm really curious. Here's one: Aircraft breaks in half.
Kuky Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 If aircraft breaks in half the pilots, if they are still alive, can eject, the aircraft structure might break but I think the cockpit enclosure shouldn't, and if it did that means they died in air... so be it from missile, engine malfunction, maybe fuel explosion... or just impact into ground... who knows. To have one pilot lose awareness alight, for both less likely I think... so maybe the aircraft did break in mid air... sad either way... its satisfying but dangerous job by nature :noexpression: PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
topol-m Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Here's one: Aircraft breaks in half. Not necessarily a non-ejection situation. Proof: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
leafer Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Spatial disorientation is when you don't have visual of the horizon though. Here's an incident I remember reading where a pilot did not eject when his F/A-18 suddenly rolled during a demonstration flight for family members before deployment. His father, who disapproved his son's decision to be a pilot, was there to watch him die. They never did figured why he didn't eject. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
GGTharos Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Spatial disorientation is when you don't have visual of the horizon though. Incorrect. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

mvsgas Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Aside from the pilot being unconscious, injured or dead, could you give me those reasons? I'm really curious. High speed: If the aircraft was going to fast and they ejected, they could have suffer enough injuries and die from them. Try to save the aircraft: Some time pilots believe the situation is not that bad and may try to stay in the aircraft to correct the problems until is to late, they may be well trained but could made mistake and stay to long with aircraft. Equipment malfunction: Radar altimeter might not be working, they could hit the ground without even noticing. Task fixation: They could have been so involve with the task that (bombing or strafing, etc) they could fly straight to the ground. To name a few. Many other reason, just some of them. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
ED Team Groove Posted July 20, 2009 ED Team Posted July 20, 2009 Many pilots simply eject too late because they think there is still time... But lets continue the speculations ;) Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
