Dginn69 Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Hello All. So up till yesterday my system ran fine. After the update today I can't even play with all the freezing. When I look at the log I see it starts of with a WARNING EDCORE CPU ha sparked cores. I ran several tests and I get that warning in al the logs. SO what would cause my system to all of a sudden start park cores and cause latency? And more important how can I remedy this. The only change from yesterday & before to today is the DCS update. Any help is greatly appreciated as I cannot fly in it's current state. I am attaching a log file as I do not really understand most of the info it contains. Thanks in advance. 04_17_2025.txt

sleighzy Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) I'd recommend cleaning up your installation first to get it in a known state initially, should be done after every update. Remove your custom mods Run a slow repair with the option to remove extra files Delete Saved Games\DCS\fxo and metashaders2 Play the game and then reapply mods afterwards and delete fxo and metashaders2 again. You can use something like ParkControl to check if your cores and being parked, and unpark them if so. Log analyzer called out a few points: Remove the OH6GunnerExport script for performance reasons. If you have FPS issues, try turning off VSYNC in graphics settings. Set Clouds to High. Set Water to Low. Disable civil traffic. Decrease Visib Range to Ultra or lower. Turn down Anisotropic Filtering. Enable Full Screen mode. Set Shadows to Medium. Decrease Terrain Textures. Upgrade your OS to Windows 11 to better support your CPU or disable cores 12,13,14,15 in Windows or Process Lasso Note: this comment re: disabling cores came from the DCS log analyzer, I would not use this as your first tool, sort out the other items. It's in game that giving me Hell.

I tried most of those suggestions before posted. Later I did try the Park control & it seemed to work, but I was testing it without trackir running. I saw on another thread that a user had issues with trackir. I will investigate further tonight. And I should just update to win 11 & get it over with.

Dginn69 Posted April 20 Author Posted April 20 So I updated my pc BIOS & finally migrated to Win 11. That's seems to have solved my freezing issues. Thanks to all who replied. 2
anlq Posted April 27 Posted April 27 This is getting worse, I got freezed 2 times in a row with VR. I got freezed with 2D multiple times before. Don't know what caused this, but it's surely DCS problem. @BIGNEWY @NineLine dcs.log
silverdevil Posted April 27 Posted April 27 hello @anlq i dropped your log into the discord analyzer. Advice Please update to the most recent version of DCS World. Windows 10 will be EOL Oct 14th 2025. Upgrade to Windows 11. Tuning tips are recommendations for better FPS based on your CPU, GPU and RAM. They might result in slightly decreased display quality. unfortunately (IMO) the newer gen intel cpus cause issues. i have an 11 gen cpu and have none of these issues. it is the sales pitch of intel to claim all these cores and it is a combo of P and E cores. E cores do not play with DCS very well. 1 AKA_SilverDevil Join AKA Wardogs Email Address My YouTube “The MIGS came up, the MIGS were aggressive, we tangled, they lost.” - Robin Olds - An American fighter pilot. So I don't think this is newer CPU problem. I may try upgrading to Windows 11 to see if this still remains. Thank you again.

I also ask this as users on Winwing MFDs experienced a similar issue when running as administrator, hence my question around TrackIR. You're running DCS from the bin-mt directory. Can you confirm whether or not you have ever had TrackIR (or other head tracking), or have installed TrackIR software, or have one plugged into your machine? Do you still get these messages appearing? Can you also disable Device Hotplugging in the DCS controls settings, it’s the button at the bottom on the right hand side. Let me know if this is already disabled. Edited April 28 by sleighzy AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2

I have Opentrack installed but not running at the same time. The Hot Plug button is as below attachment. I have updated to Windows 11. It has been running well for 3-4 sessions. P/s: In Windows 11 I used Process Lasso to disable E-core and the game would be in black screen forever. Letting the game running with all cores is fine. (my CPU is i7 14700KF). So sounds like this is working fine for you now since the Windows 11 upgrade and allowing your PC to use all cores? This is generally the recommendation anyway as Windows 11 + DCS handle hybrid P/E cores much better now. If the problem comes back then drop another DCS log. If the problem comes back also try uninstalling OpenTrack, replicate the issue, and drop a log. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
