PHMAC Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Hi support team, I have a question regarding my obligations and conditions for trying out a new product. I would like to buy the new Germany Cold War map. My PC matches the recommended (non VR) system requirements. Unfortunately the usual option to trial a product is not available (yet). My PC is quite old and settings are tweaked for best performance. For example, the Marianas map and the Syria map run fine (60fps) in most places with not to much action going on. I usually fly low and slow with helicopters in single player doing simple missions. If the Germany Cold War map can match the performance I get with the Syria map I would be satisfied. Because nobody can guarantee this I would like to try out the new map shortly (1 or 2 days) but I want to make sure that I am entitled to a full refund (no store credit) when the map is not working properly on my PC. Can you help me with my request?

PHMAC Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 Thanks for your quick reply @BIGNEWY, My PC specs are: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz, Installed RAM: 32.0 GB Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080 You can see why I'm not certain if my PC can handle it. On the other hand, Syria runs fine, even in cities (without too much other assets in action) kind regards, 12 minutes ago, razo+r said: Perhaps you should contact the customer support via ED's main website directly instead. I didn't want to create a support ticket for a simple question. But if you think that's the best way I will do so. I will wait for BigNewy's response. Thanks!
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted April 18 ED Team Posted April 18 GTX 1080 is an old favourite card of mine, still ok for DCS with lower / medium settings. As long as you dont expect to run everything on high settings you will be ok. But I understand wanting to try before you buy. I can ask the team about the trial but can not promise anything currently. 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? PHMAC Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 That would be great! I'm amazed how well the GTX 1080 is holding up. And DCS still looks really good in medium settings. I don't have a problem with some lower draw distance and simple missions...for me it's more about flying a helicopter as realistically as possible Thanks for your help! 2

Not sure if this will work, as I've never tried it myself. If you can't wait for a trial in the Standalone version just to test the performance of your computer. You could purchase in Steam, test for LESS than 20 minutes or so, and then refund. Do this on your own peril though! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1 1
