algherghezghez Posted April 22 Posted April 22 (edited) After more than two years of research and trial and error, I'm happy to present my MB-339A Falkland mini campaign! You are a young pilot of Armada Argentina, you were training on the A-4Q, but news of the war brought you back to the airplane you know how to fight in, the Aermacchi MB-339A (MC.33 in the Argentine service). You will deploy to Port Stanley, now renamed Puerto Argentino, and fight your hardest to repell the British fleet. In this 6 mission mini campaign you will find an historically accurate account of the MB-339A's involvement in the falkland war. Planes (including the actual bort numbers), dates and times, troops movements, AAA postions and ships name and position have been researched and accurately reproduced. Each mission has a Briefing and a debriefing document, several custom kneeboard pages, and lots of dialogues for a total of more than 200 voice overs. Inside the package you'll also find custom skins for the 339 (adapted from the excellent skin already provided by IFE) and other Argentinian planes. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/it/files/3344459/ Update V.1.1 Fixed crashes on startup removing the late spawn feature. Completetly reworked mission 3 to more accurately follow the real event. Incredible thanks goes to IFE for all the help! Edited May 20 by algherghezghez 9 1

Thanks! It’s the only one on the longer side, the other ones are roughly half an hour. Let me know how you like the rest! 1
HIGHLANDSPRING Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Hi, Unfortunately, DCS is crashing when running missions 2 and 3. I have no mods installed. I looked at the log file using the DCS-log-analyzer, but nothing obvious at my level of knowledge was apparent. I do use SRS, and it's updated to the latest version, but I doubt that's an issue since all my other DCS missions are fine. I tried Mission 1 again and that ran without any issues. Copy of my log file attached. Any ideas welcome, I was looking forward to Mission 2 dcs.log-20250427-173621.zip

I think it could be a memory problem. If it doesn’t work I might have to disable the late spawn. Edited April 27 by algherghezghez
HIGHLANDSPRING Posted April 27 Posted April 27 (edited) Loaded via mission editor - worked . Exited ME, loaded via campaign - crashed I'll fly through ME for now...but I'd be happy to test any fixes. And it's crashing via ME also sometimes...but mission complete. I love weather & nav missions On to Mission 3...and thankyou for the excellent campaign documentation, the debriefing material is especially interesting. Edited April 27 by HIGHLANDSPRING 2
buur Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Flown yesterday the first mission and it was great!. The voice overs are great. Also the liveries are very nice. Also the story and the characters are well done. And the best, I never had problems following the mission. All logical and in the right timing. Thanks! 1
buur Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) also for me mission two is crashing as campaign and also ME opening in ME and save and than possible to start from ME but not from campaign ok, here a final edit: opening the mission in ME and simply save them re-adding in campaign builder then it works Edited May 10 by buur
buur Posted May 10 Posted May 10 ok, flown the second mission and it was a lot of fun. It helps if you are familiar with the flight director. As a tip for other players. And the end, cool story. Didn't say more, you know, spoiler. @algherghezghez, is it ok when I post a link to your mission in the IFE discord?

I’m working on bug fixes right now and improving some of the missions, hopefully soon! 1 1

Seems like a very nice Campaign, loved the time estimate before flying the missions, and the liveries are great: I installed it via OvGME and took the opportunity to rename the built-in Campaign and add a proper description for it (seems like a really simple one), and also added one other User Campaign which I haven't tried yet because I uninstalled Syria to fit the CW Germany Map. The same OvGME file installs also all the needed liveries in one go, looks like this: and within DCS all three campaigns appear under the MB-339 section, like so: Tried the start of the first mission, really immersive, loved the fact that you placed the user on the back seat Thanks a lot for sharing and hope to try it soon. buur Posted May 16 Posted May 16 had fun with mission 3. The setting was perfect for a light plane as the MB-339 and you could fulfill the mission. Weather gives a nice feeling and navigation with the map was fun. But I had really problems to start the mission. The game crashes after loading the mission. What helps is a restart of my computer. Think there is a memory problem. 1
buur Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Mission 4. I like this kind of missions. I'm a big fan of the flying and navigation part in DCS, so I had fun with this mission. Had the same crash problems like in mission 3. Restarting the computer helps. And mission 5. seem to have the same problems. 1
algherghezghez Posted May 19 Author Posted May 19 I'll upload an update very soon! It will fix the crashing bugs and add other interesting features! 3
buur Posted May 23 Posted May 23 short update from my side on version 1.1. Now everything works fine for me. Flown mission 5, a great mission, with out any crashes on loading. But fly back with some tears in my eyes. If you want to know why, fly the campaign 1
buur Posted May 23 Posted May 23 And finished mission 6 and with this mission also the campaign and it was a lot of fun to fly it. The campaign also shows me an other view of the conflict. Normally we know only the British view. Thank you very much for your efforts to create the campaign. And at the end you have to reveal the name of the song flying back. 1

I'm really happy that you liked the campaign after all the work that went into it! having read a lot on the conflict to make this campaign I'll probably work on another campaign for another plane. The plan is all layed out in my head, and the skins are ready... probably I'll make a "teaser" mission soon. Any suggestion for the "Macchi en Malvinas" is more than welcome!! Oh, the song is "Pucara en Malvinas" by Roberto Rimoldi Fraga. 2
HIGHLANDSPRING Posted May 24 Posted May 24 (edited) Campaign complete An excellent experience, and a lot of fun to fly. It is a very nice homage to the crews that fought in that battle, and a very nice set of missions to 'fly'. I always enjoy missions that support airfield navigation using approach plates, and the Mission 2 triggers in particular worked very well. I also enjoyed reading the Debriefing notes in the Docs folder. It's great to see mechanical/electrical failures introduced. We all enjoy flying full fidelity modules, and mission makers should take advantage of that to add a bit of a twist to the story and overall experience. Many thanks, and I look forward to your next campaign. Edited May 24 by HIGHLANDSPRING 3
