This problem started recently I believe...

The center of the NVG circle, the HMD cross on the Hornet, and Petrovich's interface "crosshair" on the Hind are all displaying 20 degrees or so above the center of the VR view.

In this image, I am looking at the center of the HUD glass (you can see that's centered vertically in the VR view)  The Petrovich crosshair is above.

In the Huey image, I have marked with a red cross where I am looking.  The NVG circle is centered above.

The same effect happens with the Hornet HMD (and NVG) but taking a screenshot doesn't show the HMD, I imagine because it's rendered in only one eye.hind petro.png

Oh god! Thank you so much for this. It's been driving me mad (and really hurting my eyes), but I thought it was just me. I really hope this gets addressed, and soon.

Was there a solution to this? I'm having a similar issue with the helmet display in the F18 and the George menu in the AH-64

In the two hours between the original post and your reply? Unfortunately not. ED's addressing of bugs and issues (when they even acknowledge them)* is measured in months and years**, not hours.

I'll see you all back here when this gets fixed in 2030 for a celebratory pint. 🍺🍻

*A recent bug report about a broken F/A-18 training mission was moved out of the Bugs and Problems forum into the general Missions and Campaigns section.

**Not an exaggeration since I recently got a response to a bug report I'd made in 2022 stating that the bug had now been addressed. 😃 (I do appreciate the issue actually being addressed, though, and the follow up was also very welcome, so it's not all bad.)

Try this, see if it helps:

This issue seems to span across modules.  Your fix may work fine for the AH-64D George interface, but what about NVGs across modules, or the Mi-24P AI interface, or .......?

I can confirm this using NVGs in F-14. They should be centered, not lifted up.

Hello, you can use my mod to move/resize NVG in VR, but it won't solve issues with petrovitch menu or crosshair.

Maybe you could have some supersampling  in your VR rendering chain, not well taken into account by DCS and so creating this kind of issues ?

The NVGs are definitely the worst experience for me, so I'm interested!  Crucially, does it pass integrity check?

Hi

I have the same problem. HMD and NVG are higher than they should be.

But i found another one thing. Yesterday i had recorded my flight in Quest 3 by OBS. And when i looked my record i found what my head position in video was higher than my head in VR. Just like HMD/NVG position.

But what to do in this situation-no idea-( Tried to move a camera with numpad keys and different rctrl/rshift keys-no movement. Only Num5 worked but Num5 acting like recenter by quest 3 controller.

P.S. Using VD with VDXR.

@Flappie Is it reported already? Seems to be affecting multiple modules.

I've just tried it in fake VR (I don't have a VR gear) and it looks normal to me. Was it fixed with June 3rd update, or is it just a matter of not using fake VR to reproduce the issue?
