ED,

can u potentially make us a graphic engine like this but still run like how silent hunter III runs ie., smooth but still has excellent damage model, explosions etc.

presently explosions in lomac still cause a fps hit with the fire....just a little doubt;....how do other games manage to get their fires even more real looking i.e, SH3 but still have almost NO FPS loss.

man!! I will be pissing in my pants if lomac 2 has this graphics.

PS::: got this off the site posted by a modeller in the 3d models forum. :)

Those aren't in game shots, they're renders.

I think lomacs graphics are mostly stunning. However in the next engine i would prefer a more dirty, cold and frightening look. Something like Mig-Mags edited screenshots.

But then again, there is something appealing with a warm picture like this:

And i personally think explosions likle this, http://lockon.ru/img/products/large/234.jpg

look better then the glaring ones in the first post. This one looks heavy on the cpu/gpu though... :)

Lockons graphics are amazing, those renders with todays technology could be ingame at that level. Thats the reality of whats available now. But it would take a long time to develop and would require everyone to get a new graphics card. Already at this moment FS2004's graphics are as good as the first posts pics or better than it. Remember that FS2004 doesn't feature all the other things that lockon models such as weapons and aircraft AFM.

silent hunter iii is real. i feel the ed devs SHOULD PLAY SH3. That sim can give them a lot of ideas.

Silent Hunter 3 is a great sim, but I don't see it in a different league graphics-wise compared to Lock On. Some things are better, some worse.

Love the way ships sink though, so glad they paid attention to that and don't have the usual 2 minute sinking animations. As I said, great game despite some minor glitches or omissions.

agreed caretaker. The aspect I find amazing is the playablity of SH3 though. Its so smooth and still has amazing graphics.

A New Graphics Engine?????

I can't of course speak for ED but from my experience after living through all of reincarnations of the original Flanker Sim I'll say this......

I don't think that the engine will be rewritten from scratch.....

I'll allmost positive that this engine will again be modified and updated to fit the times......

And If I remember correctly ED legaly owns the engine as UBI owns the Lock On and Flanker names....

Some one correct me if I'm wrong as I've no dought you will (LOL)

well! Ubi does own flanker2, 2.5 and LOCK ON. I suppose also the engine is owned by ubi...thats why ED want to start making a totally new game after all these addons.

My arguement here is ::

FOR 1.2:

-- A heli sim NEEDS PPL on the ground. I was thinking of an idea for parallel gfx engines. I am not a programmer but,,,here's a shot,

IN lomac 1.2 ..waht if we have parallel gfx engines...ie.e, when a player is flying a helicopter,,,the ground details are higher and etc///whereas when a player is flying a jet...its present detail level. Since a player cannot jump in game from chopper to plane this seems kkind of like a feasable idea since either engine is loaded based on flyable.

ED PLEASE TRY PLAYING APACHE AH 64 FROM ACTIVISION VALUE...I KNOW ITS NOT A SIMULATION But have a look at the small details that add to experience...there are missions where u engage against humans on ground..a chopper sim needs tat kind of detail. We need living, running, intelligent ppl. If u fly low...in that game...the terrorists try shootong at u, they duck if u r too low...if u r almost going to land on them...they prone and run away screaming...if u blast a building...other come out of other buildings and try running away. its these kind of stuff in my opinion that is the feel of a game.

LISTEN to gamespot's review (video) of SH3...."SH3 is like an old school simulation that stimulates the experience instead of every nail and bolt...but still it does that detail in good amounts too."

screenshots aren't available of those tiny ppl :P but try checking it out...I say its FUN!! its worth it.

--- when we come to new LOMAC sequel ... I wanna ask ED to implement engines that look good...like SH3 one but play equally good...I agree there are more computations in FM etc....but honestly the present lomac engine may be good...but I guess we need implementation of fps friendly technology.

Ok I know for sure that ED owns the engine......

Theres been a number of threads that have verified this, contrary to your statement that UBI owns the engine......

I hope that you do well with your studies Son.....(LOL)

My daughter actually graduates From Manhatten College in about 3 weeks, It's been a long hard climb to get her to this point.....

Good Luck !!!!!!!
