Rudel_chw Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Hello, I've been able to place a custom kneeboard for the Corsair at /Saved Games/DCS/Kneeboard/F4U-1D Looks like this: However, this kneeboard is not picked up by the British variant of the Corsair. Does anyone know which folder name should be used for it? I tried "F4U-1D Mk.IV" but the Sim doen't pick it up. For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Rudel_chw Posted June 20 Author Posted June 20 Hi, Turns out its the same folder name as for its liveries: "F4U-1D_CW" ... now I have a working custom kneeboard for both variants ... I may end-up placing a junction link there, so as to use a single kneeboard set of pages for both variants, to save a bit of drive space and to ease update maintenance Cheers! 6 3 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Mr_sukebe Posted June 21 Posted June 21 LOL. Another obvious name for a kneeboard folder. Sydy Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Correct, Rudel. I have uploaded my Quick Checklist and discovered the /Saved Games/DCS/Kneeboard/F4U-1D_CW today. All the best, Sydy 2
GTFreeFlyer Posted June 28 Posted June 28 For anyone else having problems with their own kneeboards, here's what I found. I've been making my own kneeboards for years and haven't had issues until now. I have always saved them as .jpgs. After I couldn't get the kneeboards to work with the Corsair, I came here and downloaded Rudel's and they worked perfectly. They are .png. I went back to my kneeboard editor (PowerPoint) and exported my kneeboards as .png and it still didn't work. After closer inspection, they were actually exported as .PNG, not .png. Case matters! Turns out the Corsair is a little more picky than others. Just info in case anyone else ends up here after a Google search. Without uploading yet another checklist, here's my contribution that adds to what Rudel has... 1 My DCS Missions: Band of Buds series | The End of the T-55 Era | Normandy PvP | Host of the Formation Flight Challenge server Supercarrier Reference Kneeboards IRL: Private Pilot, UAS Test Pilot, Aircraft Designer, and... eh hem... Glad that you not only solved the issue, but shared the solution with the community ... but I wanted to clear up that I have not made a new Checklist, just uploaded the whole Module manual to use while I learn this aircraft 1 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

Actually most of the aircraft won't recognize uppercase .PNG. Best practice is to always use .png. 1

When I referred to “yet another checklist”, I was referring to the one I made, not the one you uploaded. Your upload is perfect. I have it alongside mine 1 My DCS Missions: Band of Buds series | The End of the T-55 Era | Normandy PvP | Host of the Formation Flight Challenge server Supercarrier Reference Kneeboards IRL: Private Pilot, UAS Test Pilot, Aircraft Designer, and... eh hem...
