Thanks again @gabuzomeu ... just downloaded the skins and they look great:

Pity that Magnitude has made all the base liveries available to all countries, so for this french Corsair the mission editor shows also skins for countries like US and Japan 😞

Best regards,

Hello,

I tried to fix this issue, by editing the countries line of each standard livery in such a way that it matches its actual country. For other aircrafts, for example Heatblur's Phantom, you can have the livery files both on a zip file and on a standard folder, provided both have the exact same name, with DCS merging both to have the final livery.

This way I could leave all the texture files untouched on the Zip files, and place edited description.lua files on the normal folders. However, with the F4U it does not seem to work, the Sim takes always the zip files first and the uncompressed one last. I tried them like this:

but it doesn't work  😞 ... the USA liveries still show up for a french plane:

I know that this issue is a bit confusing, but if anyone has an idea on where I'm mistaken, please I'd love to hear your advise 🙏

Thanks a lot,

Eduardo

Well, I went with the brute-force approach and did a Mod which essentially replicates the whole standard liveries ... 3 GB 🙄 .. but it looks like this when in use:

I see just the french liveries that I've downloaded from User Files, plus just a couple of generic liveries (that show up forevery country, so that you always have at least those two independent of which country your aircraft belongs).

If I change the country to, say, New Zealand, then I get this livery list:

much shorter, good 👍 ... now It wont matter if I place dozens of liveries on my Saved Games folder 🙂

Pity the space lost with this duplicate approach, but my time selecting liveries is more valuable than 3 GB 🙂  ... but wish Magnitude made this easier 😞

Cheers,

Eduardo

The liveries looks great.  I have a suggestion for the bright red, white and blue colors.   Look at the livery in ModelViewer, and push the F8 key.   If those colors are pink or orange, they are to bright

Something like this.....
