DSR_T-800 Posted Tuesday at 11:54 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:54 PM How do they compare? http://i.imgur.com/LYvIQFB.gifv
Spurts Posted Wednesday at 12:04 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:04 AM Both really fun. The Jug has had more time to be refined, but IMO you can't beat carrier landings. I also like the cockpit layout of the Corsair, which is odd because it looks like a mess. Had no problem getting the F4U up to 40,000ft in my second flight. 2

Right at this moment the P-47 is better: Pros of the P47: More immersive engine sound. More comprehensive control bindings. And most important for me, there are a couple of truly excellent Campaigns available at very reasonable cost. Its only Con would be no carrier operations. The F4U has great Pro: it has a WW2 map available for free, while for the P-47 they are payware. Edit: just realized that this is irrelevant, as the P-47 can also employ this map As the F4U matures during its EA period, this balance will change. ricktoberfest Posted Wednesday at 04:19 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:19 PM I’ve been holding off on the Corsair until I’m sure it’s worth it. It is fun landing the p-47 on the Essex though. Seems to me the Corsair is just a lighter carrier capable version of the jug. (I know there’s more to it but that’s the initial impression from watching all the videos out there)
_Hoss Posted Wednesday at 04:47 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:47 PM You feel the weight of the Jug, the Hog feels light even with a full load out. I feel the engine sound of the Jug, not so much in the Hog. Once they refine the Control settings (fuel selector, weapons switches... etc..) and make them more like the other warbirds, it will greatly reduce the usage of the mouse. The WWII map is beautiful, but a resource hog.... I turn off the mirrors and that helps a lot. It is definitely the Hose Nose Widow Maker, or Ensign Eliminator, when it comes to CQ on the boat. I can't tell how annoying the Island and Gun mounts are when they get in the way of a great approach...... the cat walk rails are a life saver when you're hanging from them like a dingleberry noob.... But I really like it.... 1 Sempre Fortis
MiGCap1 Posted Wednesday at 10:08 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:08 PM I like both very much! Don't forget, the F4U is brand new and the P-47 already refined in some aspects over the last years, so this is a little bit like comparing apples and oranges. http://www.instagram.com/spetersen13/?fbclid=IwAR07OCbRZX6qISe0fS8iUQfzts_iazbm7UEsxiKNnqviADGTaRWJJN7iAws http://www.facebook.com/spetersen13/
Slippa Posted Wednesday at 10:23 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:23 PM Corsair needs some work. As others have pointed out it’s an unfair comparison, the Jug’s not EA. So good to have another decent prop and carrier capable’s always gonna be giggles.
