Rhino4
Very nice mod. Gives the game a great atmosphere and it wasn't a big fps hit either.

barra733
Further Information Please Can anyone who uses this mod provide any further information on exactly what it does? The write up on 'lock-on files' is limited but seems to say that it removes roads! From the pictures it also seems to do something with airfields. Will it clash with the 'old russian airfield' mod? (sorry - can't remember the proper mod name).
STP Dragon
It exchanges the texturs of the terrain and airfields. Roads will not be touched. I don't think that it is compatible with other airfield-mods but I don't know. Griffin
It works great with DragonRR's airfield textures!
Rhino4
Adds a lot of new tree types, ground foilage, ect. and just makes ground pounding so much more immersive. All the buildings and roads and all are still there, though so no worries. Only drawback is that it sometimes mkaes finding enemies incredibly difficult when your playing a mission built by someone who didn't have this mod installed... Tango
According to the info on the download page: changed for DCS-BS, all trees and road surfaces were removed for better compatibility. Best regards, Tango.
Tango
Hi, I installed this via ModMan but I'm not seeing the textures in the sim. Does this work with 1.0.1? Best regards, Tango.
BTTW-DratsaB
I installed 1.01 recently and I cant tell now if this mod is still working, I'm confused. I still have the files R1L.cdds and R2.cdds in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Ka-50\Bazar\Terrain\Surface folder. I tried with and with out those files and cant see a difference. On this page: http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=239&lid=1387&ttitle=DCS-BS_SIMMOD_LoReload_Terrain_Mod#dldetails it says that it modifys the graphics.cfg, but in the readme for the download it says "this mod don't override graphics.cfg files ;)" I also found another SIMMOD mod on my HD in .exe format called "DEC 1308 LOF DCS SIMMOD TERRAIN.exe". Maybe thats the one I used before? How does the sim know to use R1L.cdds and R2.cdds, just by copying them into the Surface folder? Im pretty sure that this is how I installed it the first time, manually (never used ModMan for BS). But again the Readme confuses me beacuse it says "install it BEFORE Dragon's airbase pack". Why would that matter if your just manually copying two files to a different location? Like I said, I'm very confused. Its been ages since I messed with this stuff and I cant remember any of it :huh: Thanks for any help/pointers ==============EDIT=============== Oh dear, why do you always find the answers to problems as soon as you have made a post? :) Anyway, If you do it manually you have to edit the graphics.cfg. If you use ModMan it has its own way of editing it. Here is the post that helped me. Ironically asked by me:doh: :D. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=647926&postcount=5 - thanks again Dragon. Maybe this will help anyone else who is having problems. Kenetic
I downloaded Modman, but cant find anyway to install this mod. I just don't get it. Noob here:music_whistling:
Griffin
Kenetic; go to Modman's mods installer. In the upper bar you will see "Add" button. Click that and in the new browsing window, navigate to the mod you want to install and double click. Now the mod isn't installed yet, it's only added to modman list. Select the mod so that it's highlighted. On the right side of the screen there is "Install" button. Click that and that's it!
DanKurt
It is a very nice mod, but like the LOMAC version, I find the scenery too green and thus not a true representation of the terrain in Spring through to Autumn, which is a pity as if the "green" was toned a little I think it would be spot on. Kenetic
Thanks for the help Griffin. It says installed, but not in cfg. It's green with N/A in the box. That means it wont show up, correct?
TAIPAN_
EDIT: Ignore this post, refer to my CORRECT post below for both terrain mods. Griffin
Ok, now I got all confused. There are two mods. This one by Skypat (68 MB) and another one (http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=239&lid=1258&ttitle=DCS-BS_Enhanced_Terrain_Mod_v1.02#dldetails) by Ruggbutt (150 MB). Skypat's is newer but less than half the size of Ruggbutt's which claims to have all seasons. Many of the descriptions on lockonfiles give me more questions than answers. Could someone explain? Skypat's is newer but less than half the size of Ruggbutt's which claims to have all seasons. Many of the descriptions on lockonfiles give me more questions than answers. Could someone explain? Ahh sorry guys I misunderstood which one you were talking about. I should have read the thread properly  The graphics.cfg lines I provided above are actually for BOTH mods to work. SIMMOD Lo-Reload is for summer. Ruggbutt's enhanced terrain is for winter/autumn/spring. Here's a better complete method to get them working: 1. Download and install SIMMOD Lo-Reload: http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=239&lid=1387&ttitle=DCS-BS_SIMMOD_LoReload_Terrain_Mod#dldetails 2. Download and extract Ruggbutts Enhanced Terrain, but do not let it install the graphics.cfg or it will overwrite your graphics.cfg and you will lose all your mod and skin references! Just copy the texture files to the subfolders manually: http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=239&lid=1258&ttitle=DCS-BS_Enhanced_Terrain_Mod_v1.02#dldetails 3. Edit your graphics.cfg and place these up the top: common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\R1L.cdds"; common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\R2.cdds"; summer = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\R1L.cdds"; summer = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\R2.cdds"; spring = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\SprBMP.cdds"; spring = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\SprTGA.cdds"; autumn = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\AutBMP.cdds"; autumn = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\AutTGA.cdds"; winter = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\WinBMP.cdds"; winter = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\WinTGA.cdds"; 4. Install Dragon's airbase textures with modman last. Or any other airbase texture you would like. Now, if there's anyone with spare time, you could create a modman package to do all of the above, and load it onto lockonfiles. As you can see from the forum on lockonfiles, the mods were there but nobody knew how to use them. Lockonfiles mod uploaders could do better to explain how to install the files and which graphics.cfg entries to use, even so, I appreciate the work of the mod creators  Cheers Taipan 1 Pimax Crystal VR & Simpit User | Ryzen CPU & Nvidia RTX GPU | Some of my mods

John Banks
That's what i thought too Hurt and beside that, i would like to see a screenshot with the terrain installed from high alt. I once installed a new terrain mod and had a checkerboard like pattern from high alt. They used the exact same textures all over again which looks ugly. I guess the same goes for Ruggbutts terrain?
