Is the ABRIS map supposed to update using INS if GNSS isn't available?  Because right now it isn't.  However, I always cheat and use No alignment or fix-taking needed...so maybe that's the issue?

Or does it absolutely require a GPS signal to function?

are far as im aware abris requires gps but ive never tested it

It requires GLONASS (Not the US GPS) which should have limited availability (Russia & Environs) from 82, and full availability by 1995:

Beginning on 12 October 1982, numerous rocket launches added satellites to the system until the completion of the constellation in 1995

Then it gradually lost coverage until it was re-prioritised:

In 2001, after a decline in capacity during the late 1990s, the restoration of the system was made a government priority, (...)  In October 2011, the full orbital constellation of 24 satellites was restored, enabling full global coverage

Cheers.

It works like a more advanced NS430,so GNSS is required,it talk and exchange some data from some aircraft systems, but mainly datalink and combat stuff, sadly I guess INS position is not one of them.

The best thing u can do is set ABRIS heading from true to mag in the option page,so it still shows ur heading on it.
