Snozz Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 In the first night mission I am told "Don't forget your goggles" but there is no key in the real mode list that mentions night vision or goggles. The only key anywhere close is the cockpit lights for night.
Tango Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) Hi, First, you must equip them when you get in the sim (it replaces the helmet mounted sight with the NVG). - Press # then F10 then F3 if you have the default key mappings. Once you've equipped them, the default key is 'H' for helmet mounted device. It will activate the NVG. If they are too bright, the knob for the brightness is below the Shkval display. Remember to switch off all other lighting and rig blue lighting - it is NVG friendly. Best regards, Tango. Edited August 12, 2009 by Tango
nemises Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 .... If the mssion stars in darkness hours, NVG will automatically be equiped, and you just need to press "H" to activate

barra733 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Don't forget... ...to set your radio to 'Ground Crew' before you ask them to set up your NVG's. And definately don't forget to switch it back to VHF when you're done - lest invoke the wrath of the ground crew commander..! It also gets annoying when you're desperately trying to get your wing man to engage air defences and he can't hear you...
andyfoot Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 You can also just open the cockpit door to talk to the Groundcrew without changing radio frequency.
sweinhart3 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 It also gets annoying when you're desperately trying to get your wing man to engage air defences and he can't hear you... I started to freak out the other day cause my wingman wouldnt respond and I thought something was broke. Turned out I accidently hit one of the numbers on the VHF frequency knob when I was setting up my targeting computer. Gotta watch out for buttons and other doodaaads when your doing stuff. I sometimes have a hard time hitting a button I need with the mouse when track ir keeps moving my head PoV. Keeping my head dead still is sometimes a challenge.
