RazorbackNL Posted August 31 Posted August 31 (edited) Hi guys, I've got this annoying thing going on were DCS World just stops responding in the middle of a multiplayer session. Worth mentioning is that the sound is still going while the program is non responsive. Can someone please have a look to see what might be going on? RazorbackNL Posted August 31 Author Posted August 31 Hi SilverDevil, Thank you for digging into my problem. I have changed the pagefile now so Windows is managing it. Gonna test it out and see how it goes. Will report back. Thank you for your help. Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) | AMD Ryzen 9 5900X @ 4,5Ghz | 128Gb DDR4 3200Mhz | beQuiet! Slippa Posted August 31 Posted August 31 I’ve had exactly the same thing happening to me. I’ve had to shut down the computer to get out of it. Don't have a clue about pagefile sizes or how and what to mess with. I’ll keep an eye on it, good luck Razor 1
silverdevil Posted September 1 Posted September 1 @RazorbackNL & @Slippa i forgot to share a link. https://www.windowscentral.com/software-apps/windows-11/how-to-manage-virtual-memory-on-windows-11 razor has 128 GB of RAM so the pagefile is not necessary. i have mine set to 32 GB. slippa if you have less than 64 GB RAM, add a 32 GB pagefile. 1 1 AKA_SilverDevil Join AKA Wardogs Email Address My YouTube “The MIGS came up, the MIGS were aggressive, we tangled, they lost.” - Robin Olds - An American fighter pilot. RazorbackNL Posted September 7 Author Posted September 7 After setting to let Windows manage the Pagefile, today the problem of DCS being unresponsive showed up again. I have attached the latest log in case you need it. I have now set up a No Paging File since you mentioned I don't need a pagefile because of my 128Gb RAM. Let's see what happens. dcs.log Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) | AMD Ryzen 9 5900X @ 4,5Ghz | 128Gb DDR4 3200Mhz | beQuiet! RazorbackNL Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago I removed the unofficial mods and ran a repair. Went pretty well for a while. I had high hopes but unfortunately DCS became unresponsive once again. Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) | AMD Ryzen 9 5900X @ 4,5Ghz | 128Gb DDR4 3200Mhz | beQuiet! Slippa Posted 1 minute ago Posted 1 minute ago Cheers Silver, I do have 64gb ram cheers. I’m resigned to the fact that DCS is just always gonna crash a few times on me every session. I’ve been mostly flying MP and I’m not alone, most just accept it’s gonna crash. It’s a shame something so good when up and running is so unstable. I rarely have any trouble with any other software on my system, not that much else gets a look in anyway now. cheers for the helpful pointers . - oh and the OH-6, while there may be some issues, is one of the most well put together modules in DCS, albeit a Mod. Tobi & Eightball deserve all the tea & medals for giving us a massive bundle of goodies along with a chopper that’s one of the most fun things to fly on the platform. It has caused issues in the past so if things start to go wonky I disable my mods, as we should, but I’d never be rid of it. What would I do with all these Hawaiian shirts & loafers ?
