Does anybody can say if the laser code for new Ka-50 is 1113 as for FC3 modules? Or the laser code has been changed with update? As I remember, for the old Ka-50 it was 1113

Buddy-lasing for another type from ka50 probably won't work, since it's been changed and nobody knows the code(or if it's even a NATO PRF code anymore),I guess buddy-lasing now works only between ka50s.

But for now 1113 still works for su25t.

If u want an answer from dev about ka50,maybe u can try Ru ka50 sub-forum using a translator, looks like people who actually did the coding sometimes answer questions their.

I'm asking because if I'll recognize the code for Ka-50III I'll be able to support other 50's with my Apache. Even make them day and night. Anyway, thanks for the advice. I'll try Ru sub-forum

@Flappie@BIGNEWY : We are many Kamov in differents squadrons who want to make buddylasing with SU-25
(and why not Mig-29 if they will have any guided laser bomb one day)
Can you ask ED about the 3 current laser code number using by the KA-50 now ?

Tanks a lot for your answer!! 🫡

"There is an internal request to give the Ka-50 a NATO-standard laser code, but it does not seem to get any traction for now. Probably because devs know well that the Ka-50 never did any buddy lasing in its time. Maybe this request will get clearance one day"

Third-party illumination for the Ka-50 will not work. The Ka-50 can only illuminate a target for itself using its own codes and encryption.

That's not true. The Ka-50 can illuminate for Kh-25 with the Su-25/T. I haven't tried it, but it should be able to illuminate the S-25L and KAB500L as well. (I'll try that when I get the chance).

As to the grand question of what laser code Shkval-complex uses (be it Ka-50 or Su-25T - there are minor differences between the two), here is the answer:

To explain it simply; the laser code is not a single frequency like you'd otherwise find in a western aircraft. Instead, it is a alter frequency between 1111 and 1788. Thus, it is impossible to achieve any specific code parity, and as such, external lasing from non-Russian sources. Even the Russian laser source has to operate, frequency-wise, as Shkval does.

Nerron Meyer: It used to have a set laser code with BS2, as far as I remember, but got changed so as not to allow the unrealistic abuse of lasing for western weaponry. I do for sure remember testing it with success with a former clan member when DCS World unified Ka-50 (BS2) and A-10C.
