Bowie Posted Saturday at 10:52 PM Posted Saturday at 10:52 PM (edited) P-51D-25 - Joystick/Keyboard & Briefing/Load screen image... gone. Just the mouse. Just the ESC and Pause keys. All other A/C are functioning perfectly. The default Controller tab for the P-51D, that was several scrolling pages long, like all the other A/C, is now a coupla mouse related lines. Loads normal in mission builder, routes/liveries/weapons load-out. But the mission briefing screen is the digital camo 'missing image', as is the mission load screen, instead of the P-51D 364th FS, 357th FG (C5) image. And then, run the mission, and only the mouse works, no joystick, and only the Esc and Pause function keys. Controller/keyboard serial numbers match the functioning A/C, and are regenerated. Have been working w/ the jets of late, so not sure if it was post or prior to either the latest update or F4U-1D release, both of which were installed during the jet mission building program. Have tried so far: - Start Menu DCS 'Repair'. - Uninstall/reinstall P-51D. - Uninstall/throw out P-51D folders/reinstall. - Uninstall/DCS Repair/reinstall. - Uninstall/move folders to Archive ships/planes added during the jet mission building program/reinstall. No joy. Like an important folder/file is missing - but the P-51D, as a prime and well used A/C, has never been subject to Drive Space 'Hanger' time, save the liveries, that have never been a problem, the ones used being in the user/liveries folder. Have not messed w/ the F4U-1D as yet, but is the next thing to consider. This is new, and very weird. P-51D - Dead Stick&Keyboard.trk dcs.log EDIT: added dcs.log @BIGNEWY Please Advise. rob10 Posted Sunday at 02:49 PM Posted Sunday at 02:49 PM Rename the controller folder for that in your SAVED GAMES folder (or just rename the DCS folder in saved games if you want to test if that fixes it). All the repairs and stuff you did so far will have no impact on your saved games folder files, so haven't touched the issue. 1

Including the user/controller folders. They are regenerated w/ the reinstall, with the proper serial numbers, same as the functioning A/C. Bowie
Art-J Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Your description of what you did during troubleshooting is confusing. What rob pointed out above is - aircraft folders with customized diff.lua files, located in Saved Games/[...]/Config/Input, if deleted, cannot "regenerate" during reinstall, as neither reinstalling nor repair command can bring them back. Unless some 3rd party software is involved? So we're not sure what and how you've done with which folders really. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

The config files will automatically regenerate a version with default settings on running DCS if you delete them. Re-install won't touch them since they're in the Saved Games folder. That's why the 1st advice for anything controls related is to rename at least that part of the DCS Saved Games folder.

Then how do they get there in the first place? Bowie 3 hours ago, rob10 said: The config files will automatically regenerate a version with default settings on running DCS if you delete them. So you are suggesting to just rename the "files" w/in the user/input folders, and not the folders themselves. Is that correct? And would this address the missing briefing/load screen image, that is correctly in the Program Files/.../Mods/aircraft/P-51D/Skins/1/ME folder? Bowie Edited 15 hours ago by Bowie
Bowie Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago (edited) So, renamed the user/input/joystick and keyboard .diff.ula's and ran a test. No joy. They did not regenerate. Same missing briefing/load "texture", and no control of the A/C, save mouse view panning. Also noticed that the instruments are frozen as well, even as the A/C over-revs and augers in. This is weird.
