Support for new PRMG/RSBN beacons

In the latest MiG-29 Navigation video the mobile PRMG/RSBN beacon was demonstrated in a form of a RSBN-car (timestamped video)

Would you be so kind to support this in the MiG-21 as well? That way the community won't have to do all sort of manual fixes to get the RSBN working on all maps.

Magnitude 3 would need to update the module to adopt the native DCS RSBN/PRMG system. This means a rework of the avionics code to retrieve data from map_beacons.lua rather than relying on internal Lua files. Maybe not so easy but necessary in the long run.

I wasn't saying it was easy nor quick, but it would be great to have it supported out of the box.

I'm also familiar with the fact that this is one of the oldest 3rd party modules, so it's definitely not a 5-min fix.

All we can ask is that this gets included in the plans, nothing more. And if they say no, that's fine as well.

Oh definitely. I'd also be willing to fork over another 30-50 euro for a MiG-21 v2.0 just so it gets brought up to the current standard, but I am a bit biased as our airforce used to fly them 🙂

I think we will get It. I just don't know the timeline for this.

Maybe.... commercially it's a given hit, but the ball is really in Magnitude 3's corner now. I have a feeling that they are a bit sick and tired with the MiG-21
and wants to work on something new. Also, a true "2.0 edition" would probably mean to start over from scratch. The code is 10+ years old by this point.
Perhaps wishful thinking, but a partnership with another 3rd party for a "2.0 edition" might get the ball rolling.

Any further questions? 😂

It took 11 years to release Early Access Corsair, and you expect @-Rudel- to answer my question in a timely manner? Are you high? 🤣

If you really expected any kind of reaction or positive answer from him on the MiG-21, it might be very well you who is high 😂

I wish I was... 😄

I have hope, for now...

Wow, I mean WOW, 11 years!!

There was a time a while ago when it was 7 years, then people started saying 8 years (neither of them true, make it 3-4), but apparently the time it took grows and grows every time someone uses that for an argument and now it's peaked at nothing less than 11 years!! WOWWW , it's the miracle of the M3 Corsair's ever growing development time  🤣🤣🤣 . Next time I hear about it I'd expect it took not less than 15 years 😅

You all as always so positive people, but they've already said a MiG-21Bis v2.0 in on the works and it'll be coming. Obviously the new module should be using a tool, like RSBN is, unavailable at the time of release back in 2013. What else do you need to know? the current module has it's own RSBN system and it's working and usable.

Are you asking me? Because I didn't ask you anything. I am not sure I understand what you mean.

No, that's not for you specifically, it's the second part of the post just wondering about the purpose of the thread, one more of so many alike 😂. If we know -21 v2 is coming, if we know now for the first time RSBN and so is officially supported -> one day we'll have it. What else is to be asked? Oh, well, when? -> two weeks. We know everything that's to know mates 😂

ps: maybe a bit better worded now
