sleighzy Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) Common error in the log being experienced by other users as well. Renaming Saved Games\DCS to Saved Games\DCS.bak as mentioned above will achieve the same result as just renaming Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor to MissionEditor.old which is the current workaround for this error. 2025-09-23 07:07:40.857 ALERT LUACOMMON (Main): Error: GUI Error: [string "./MissionEditor/modules/me_news.lua"]:146: bad argument #2 to 'date' (number expected, got string) GUI debug.traceback: stack traceback: [C]: ? I've tested this myself and that file gets recreated on next startup so seems to be safe. Edited 23 hours ago by sleighzy 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
sleighzy Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) @Wexler Can you please attach your current `Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor\news.lua` file to this ticket. If you have already renamed Saved Games\DCS or MissionEditor then grab the news.lua file from that backup and attach here. Needing to get more copies of the bad news.lua file causing issues from people. Edited 17 hours ago by sleighzy 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2

Needing to get more copies of the bad news.lua file causing issues from people. Worked like a charm. Although I firstly tried renaming the missioneditor, i backwardly tested if deleting just news.lua would be enough. It was enough. Thank you sir. news.lua Edited 14 hours ago by Wexler 1 Ryzen 7 2700X | MSI Trio 1080Ti | MSI X470 Plus Motherboard | 32GB Kingston HyperX Predator 2933 DDR4 | M.2 XPG GAMMIX S11 Pro SSD | Virpil Mongoost-50 throttle | Thrustmaster Warthog Stick | MFG Crosswind | Rift S

sleighzy Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I reported this in the ED Discord as well. Latest update is that they’ve replicated the issue, it’s been reported, and they’ll be looking into it. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
