Muchocracker Posted September 24 Posted September 24 (edited) Missile is losing the target to chaff while beaming in almost every track. Then reacquires super late and misses under likely because of target glint. I don't see anything in these tracks to suggest a bug. Edited September 24 by Muchocracker

AIM-7M and R-27R are almost same in chaff resistance with 27R being just behind it.
Muchocracker Posted September 24 Posted September 24 distance missed doesn't make it a bug. And the aim-7 is not on the same advanced model yet.

I made a bug report where missiles are missing in a similar manner to this bug report and no chaff was even used with mine. 5

I suggest you take a closer look at all 5 tacviews and see when chaffing was stoped and how missile is missing target that is no longer droping chaffs.

And like i said in the next sentance, reacquired late. Missing under because of glint induced aiming errors. In the third track the missile oscillates up and down when the target isnt doing a similar maneuver. That's indicitive of the missiles aim point shifting. Edited September 25 by Muchocracker

That's indicitive of the missiles aim point shifting. So with it reacquiring why. Does the R27 through its speed gate open if the target is lost? More importantly though chaff should not be impacting a speed gate this bad it should be minimal. Speed gates are often only 10-15kts wide and chaff will fall out of that well before they bloom to an RCS that could be useful. Chaff slows down at 700-1200m/s if memory serves me right and bloom time is 2 or so sec to go to its full RCS. Even near the beam the drop off in speed is such that it should fall out of the speed gate in a fraction of a second. Edited September 25 by nighthawk2174 2
Thirsty Posted September 26 Posted September 26 (edited) This looks very much like a bug with the new missile API. I have noticed as well that all you need to do is roll and pull a little and the R-27 just lost all abilitly to guide, and no chaff is needed at all. Especially if anykind of hard roll is intruduced. ColdClaws report and yours shows the same exact bug. Hope this gets fixed soon, since this is some warthunder levels of "just roll and the missile misses" kind of bug. TOMCATZ Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Hello I´m very happy with the MiG29- best module ED ever made. I really enjoy flying the Fulcrum. But unfortunatelly the missile R27 guidance has to be fixed and I must confirm the reports above here. Even if the target has no ECM on and no chaffs , just some rolls are enough the bring the R27 of track. It is so confusing and frustrating because even no "beaming" or cold turns or high g turns are necceasary to evade the missile even with stabile locks. I want kindly ask ED to update the missile guidance and I´m aware of that the module is under EA conditions. So far - A great job with the MiG29 was done and my heart is on fire for it. Thank you very much and Cheers TOM Edited 2 hours ago by TOMCATZ Born to fly but forced to work.
