Mainstay Posted yesterday at 11:49 AM Posted yesterday at 11:49 AM I dont know if any other VR users are experiencing the same issues as me. But i have to use mods for a lot of modules (F-18/F-16/AH-64/AV-8) in DCS to tone down the fuzziness and thickness to make it enjoyable. Now the MiG-29 is the same problem all over again..... Night time mode the fuzziness and thickness of the displayed symbology and lines is perfect in VR. Why cant it be the same for the daytime mode HUDS for all these aircraft? Its kinda weird that we have this problem for years now over multiple modules and people need to mod it while it has been requested many times. Make a slider or something for users to adjust for VR maybe? Anyways if anyone knows where i can find the files for the MiG-29 to adjust the DAYTIME HUD Symbology fuzziness and thickness im grateful. I checked multiple folders and i cant find the .Lua with the right lines to adjust them to get things right. Thanks in advance 1
Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted yesterday at 12:19 PM Posted yesterday at 12:19 PM Can you perhaps share a screenshot of the “fuzziness” you’re talking about, and perhaps a comparison shot of after the mod you mention is applied? That way we can better understand what you mean… Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with 20cm S-curve extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 24H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON
Mainstay Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago (edited) This is a mod for the F-18 HUD. Thats one example of a HUD that’s way sharper and better for VR usage. The lines ED uses are way too thick and blurred for higher resolution and VR. Same with F-16 / AH-64 and now MiG-29…. Just try switching to night HUD on the Fulcrum and it looks way sharper and less blown up and fuzzy… credits to mod maker https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328256/ Edited 23 hours ago by Mainstay 1
Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) I’ll try it later today, cheers! *edit* Now that I tried it, it is indeed a large improvement. In fact, it reminds me of Razbam's Mirage 2000. Lixma 06 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Many other aircraft have the same HUD...'bloom'...is perhaps not the right term - but where increasing brightness (or even mild FOV changes) corresponds to fatter/fuzzier fonts. The Mig-29 isn't the worst offender but like most other green HUDs I find myself reducing the brightness to sharpen the image immediately on entering the cockpit. I hope ED will one day give some love to the HUD elements - they look like overlays rather than projections on glass (Razbam's Harrier I quite like though). The WW2 reticles in particular look like something out of a 90's era flight sim. There must me some fancy new GFX card trickery available to up the realism?

Thanks in advance Hi, I made those hud edit mods above, the mig has essentially the same folder structure, so if you follow the steps described here, you can do your own edit. If you feel like it would be to complicated I could share my WIP version of falcrum hud here
