d0ppler Posted Monday at 09:42 AM Posted Monday at 09:42 AM Isn't it TMS UP - POINT TRACK? Not area? A-10C, AV-8B, Ka-50, F-14B, F-16C, F-5E, F/A-18C, L-39, Mi-8, MiG-21, MiG-29, SA34, Spitfire, Su-27, Su-33, UH-1H
Maverick806 Posted Monday at 06:29 PM Posted Monday at 06:29 PM Maybe I’m looking in the wrong spot, but the underlined section says TMS Right-Short, not TMS Up 1 9800X3D, 64GB DDR5, RTX 3080 Valve Index, RS FSSB R3 Ultra, TM Viper TQS, TM TPR Pedals
d0ppler Posted Monday at 06:46 PM Author Posted Monday at 06:46 PM And that's what I think is incorrect. It should be TMS Up in order to make a point track. Don't think you can do a fix based on an area track. 1 A-10C, AV-8B, Ka-50, F-14B, F-16C, F-5E, F/A-18C, L-39, Mi-8, MiG-21, MiG-29, SA34, Spitfire, Su-27, Su-33, UH-1H

Don't think you can do a fix based on an area track. Why do you think that? The text at the top of your screenshot literally says: "in AREA or POINT track modes". 1 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

But I may doing something wrong, though. A-10C, AV-8B, Ka-50, F-14B, F-16C, F-5E, F/A-18C, L-39, Mi-8, MiG-21, MiG-29, SA34, Spitfire, Su-27, Su-33, UH-1H

Area track seems perfectly reasonable of a mode to do something like this, especially when point track can snap the TGP onto a moving object without the pilot consent, IIRC. Area track tends to grab the ground pretty well.
d0ppler Posted Tuesday at 12:44 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 12:44 PM (edited) I totally agree, nevertheless, it doesn't work for me when I try to do a FIX if the TGP has an area track. ED Team Solution NineLine Posted Tuesday at 04:50 PM ED Team Solution Posted Tuesday at 04:50 PM There is nothing in real-world documentation that states (that we have seen) the TGP must be in POINT track specifically to perform a position fix using the TGP. In the manual excerpt posted in the OP, it even states "in AREA or POINT track modes" at the top of the page. 1 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
d0ppler Posted Tuesday at 05:10 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 05:10 PM Allrighty then. I'll post a bug about not being able to do TGP fix with area track then. But the trk file will be awfully long in order to achieve drift. 3 A-10C, AV-8B, Ka-50, F-14B, F-16C, F-5E, F/A-18C, L-39, Mi-8, MiG-21, MiG-29, SA34, Spitfire, Su-27, Su-33, UH-1H
