We could say the same about the MiG-29A, you just need to learn Cyrillic and the metric system. But there is an option for an English cockpit, and so on, even though something like that never existed in this variant.

 

DCS is just a game, and in multiplayer, sometimes American aircraft are used on the Red side. Imagine AWACS giving you everything in metric units while you’re flying an F-15 or your wingman is trying to explain you how far away bandit is.

Does the F-16C, F/A-18C. A-10C or any other Blufor jet have a metric cockpit? Why should they start now?

They already did, by making an imperial MiG-29. So ED did this to themselves.

Imagine how weird it would be to fly a Bf-109 in knots, and feet, and inches of manifold pressure.  Its just WRONG.   As long as they have a Metric cockpit with English labels, I'm happy, but I don't see why in the heck they decided to go down that path to provide an Imperial option.

Because of the real MiG-29G and because majority of users are from western countries so they wanted to make MiG-29A Fulcrum more popular.

Well... Is that majority from freedom units countries? Like, not in terms of aviation alone but in general? I doubt that

Imperial units were also connected with the english labels. And majority can read it as opposed to cyrillic. That's the part of making it more popular.

I understand that games are made more casual for popularity and gameplay reasons. That's why I suggest ED makes the metric version of the F-15 (and, of course, the F-35, but that's another topic) since metric is used in every but 2 or 3 countries of the world. Yes, I'm aware that in aviation most countries use imperial, but the majority of players isn't from aviation sphere (me included). I also understand that many are willing to use feet per pumpkins in their digital aircraft, but many don't.

Thing is it wasn't fictional, all of the NATO Mig-29s were updated to have the cockpit in English. So it is a real thing. ED would have to come up with a metric version of the F-15C cockpit by themselves, so it would take a lot more time than the one they just needed to copy and retexture for the Mig-29.
