Hi,

after the last update (to 2.9.21.16362), I noticed, that my center monitor and about one half of the left and right monitor are covered by some kind of mask. (see attached photos) This mask does not appear when DCS isn't running and also not with MSFS for example or other applications. The only AC affected so far are the F16 and F18. Neither the A10 nor any other AC have that problem.

I am sure, that this is not a hardware or monitor problem but a problem within the F16 or F18 software modules. Before I know restore the entire DCS World can somebody give me a hint which aircraft modules I should restore or any other idea?

Thanks in advance

Georg

It's reported. It's the new visor for the F-16C and F/A-18C. It was mentioned in the changelog. Somehow it doesn't cover the whole screen when you have triple screens. Don't know if it is intentional or not.

Cheers!

Thank you,

When I saw the visor thing mentioned in the F16 and F18 changelog, I thought  that it must have something to do with it.

Went into controls and configured a shortcut to toggle it on/off and.... it worked! 🙂

Thanks again and have a nice Sunday!

Excellent! Will be even better when it covers the whole screen! 😄

Same to you!

Now I'm off to get me the new National Graphic "Top Guns: The New Generation" series! 😁

Just be aware with the visor raised you won't be able to use the JHMCS.

I have three 1440p monitors, so my total resolution is 7680x1440. With the new Visor update, you can see hard lines where the visor effect stops (about the middle of my left and right monitor).

See screenshots below.

1st screenshot: I capture it right in the middle of the transition of lifting the visor up (after keybinding the raise and lower visor actions), so the effect is midway up the vertical screen.

2nd screenshot: Visor is down but you see that it doesn't cover the entire resolution. (3 Camera LUA)

3rd screenshot: With 1Camera LUA, the issue is not present and visor covers the entire screen, even at my 7680x1440 resolution, but the HUD is so blurry it's unusable (also see screenshot).

Thanks. Was hoping it was fixed in the micro update today but no joy?

I hope this bug report goes in a different bucket than the Mouse Polling CPU Spike/FPS stutters bug (still have that on 45% of my game launches, even with a polling rate of 250hz). Or the MFD export brightness bugs plaguing WinWing external displays.

This one basically wrecks my entire setup.

Today's hot fix was for crashes only. More important.

Hopefully not.

That's one for the history books. Probably won't see a fix pre Vulkan. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Cheers!

Or what about the one with a blurry HUD if you use a wide resolution and 1 camera LUA? As seen on the bottom screenshot of my post above. I still don't understand that:

3 Camera = HUD crisp. Visor bug.

1 Camera = HUD blurry.

Same overall resolution with either. Can't win either way 🙂

Do you think those are related, or should have a separate report?

I assumed it was already reported. @BIGNEWY do you know if the 1 Camera LUA with large resolution makes the HUD blurry (at least in F/A 18C) has already been reported / known?
