investigating VR - Aircraft fade and disappear in close

When flying in VR, aircraft within a mile or two will fade or disappear altogether. Settings can sometimes mitigate the problem, but these feel like work arounds. Is this something that is being looked into?

please include a track replay, your dcs log, and dxdiag we can take a look at your setup and settings and see if its something that can be tweaked.

I just saw your reply to Cab's question and I'm a little confused, as there has been discussion/reports of this issue all over Discord and Reddit for months (with uploaded track replays and DCS Logs).  Are you saying that this is the first time that ED are hearing about this issue?  (1672) Discord | "Visual: All aircraft flickering." | DCS by Eagle Dynamics

you are assuming this is the same issue, I am not, which is why I am asking for more details. 

The issue you have linked has not been reproduced, as you can see in the discussion some testers have tried to reproduce. So it best to get as much information as possible on a new report.

I can do that when I get back to my PC but for now, I was just curious there was any hope of this being fixed in the future.

This has been discussed extensively already, especially on the topic of spotting dots: far away aircraft are far easier to see than when they are almost on top of you.
I don't know if there have been dedicated threads about it, or tracks posted other than the test track Draconus made a good while ago.

For the record, this isn’t about dots.

this is why its important to get as much data and info as possible as the topic is varied and people have different settings, and hardware.

that’s fine, but since you did bring up spotting dots, I wanted to make sure no one else went down that track. Threads get derailed that way all the time.
