CaptainCaleb Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Hello everyone! (I think its probably me not a bug) When I make a mission and tell an S-300 site to be my enemy, and a Patriot site to be my friendlies, when an enemy jet comes into my airspace (in range of the Patriot) it will do nothing!? And same happens when I fly near the S-300... nothing happens... so is there anything special I have to do to make it work? any help would be much appreciated. razo+r Posted November 14 Posted November 14 (edited) SAM systems that utilize multiple vehicles like the S-300 and Patriot need all of their respective vehicles in the same group. So for the S-300, you would need to add the LN (Launcher), SR (Search Radar), TR (Tracking Radar) and a CP (Command Post) all together in the same group for them to work. As an alternative you can use the S-300 template that's available to use and ingame. Edited November 14 by razo+r 1
CaptainCaleb Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 (edited) Thanks! But I did put all those together on the map!? No, not really. Out of the six available Patriot vehicles it only requires three to function (STR, ECS, LN). Same goes for the S-300: it needs Flap Lid (either one), any SR (Big Bird or Tin Shield), and any launcher. 1 Dima | My DCS uploads

Not that the group must contain all of the available units. Your suggestion of grouping them together is correct, of course; it's just me nitpicking. What I'm saying, there can be many variables at play. And it would be much easier to help if we could look at the mission file or a track replay. 2 Dima | My DCS uploads
MAXsenna Posted November 14 Posted November 14 @Minsky No need to apologise! Just wanted to give a heads up! @CaptainCaleb What Minsky means is that when a post gets tagged like that, and you have questions like these. Just take the mission file, and drag and drop it into your post. Same goes if you feel something's wrong when flying and have questions. Always add a track. You can always save a track when exiting a mission. There's a button. I'm sure you've seen it. This makes it so much easier to help! Cheers! 1
CaptainCaleb Posted November 15 Author Posted November 15 (edited) Ok guys, I think I get what you mean by putting them as one group! I had just slapped them all together as separate vehicles! So, then I need to add a ground vehicle, put the correct number for how many vehicles in the group, and change each of them to the correct type. Correct? Thanks for all the help! buceador Posted November 15 Posted November 15 (edited) You can, of course, simplify the process by using the ADD TEMPLATE command from the edit menu... (These pics are not in order, middle, bottom, top is the correct order) Edited November 15 by buceador Clarification 1 1
