Japo32 Posted Saturday at 10:30 AM Posted Saturday at 10:30 AM (edited) Hello! I don't know if this has been answered already, but here we go: I have an M2 1TB that works great for DCS but that I have to be removing maps, because it is already full. In recent interview to Matt Wagner, he said that the option to install to different locations will come in future. Can you give us an upate about this? Black Friday arrived and I bought a 4TB external one desiring to be filled to not install-remove maps everytime. Thanks! PD: I know that I can make simbolic links but I preffer not to. Thanks! PD2: if this is development, please add the option to MOVE already installed content on other drives. Edited Saturday at 10:33 AM by Japo32

Might come with 3.0. Don't see it coming before that. In the mean time like @silverdevil mentions. Symbolic links is the way to go. At the end of the article, there's even a link to a graphical tool. And I know there's others. Cheers! https://www.howtogeek.com/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/
Ornithopter Posted Saturday at 03:45 PM Posted Saturday at 03:45 PM I had to do this just yesterday in order to download the update. Reclaimed 200 GB from my elderly 1 TB main installation drive. No reason for OP not to do this. 1
Japo32 Posted yesterday at 12:26 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:26 AM well... hope this is implemented sooner than later. Maybe there is something I miss inside the code, but I don't see too much problem for them to implement it, and would be much more "elegant" and clean.

They burned themselves by letting people change the location of the "_download" directory, with the result that people set it at a disk root, which of course completely wiped the disk after DCS was updated. Now that was fun. It will take you five minutes to do it yourself with symbolic links, or you can wait. Your choice. Cheers! @Japo32 Here are some graphical tools. I think the first one is the one I mention in the article I linked to. The second one is even in the Windows Store. On Windows: Link Shell Extension: This integrates directly into Windows Explorer, allowing users to create various types of links (symbolic, hard, and junction links) through right-click context menus. Symbolic and Hard Link Maker: Available on the Microsoft Store, this application provides a user-friendly interface for creating symbolic, hard, and directory links. WinSLink: A simple GUI tool specifically for creating symbolic links for files or directories. Symbolic11: Designed with a modern Windows 11-inspired interface, it facilitates the creation of symbolic, hard, and junction links. SymlinkCreator: An open-source, GUI-based application that simplifies symlink creation, often supporting drag-and-drop functiona lity.
