dresoccer4 Posted yesterday at 12:04 AM Posted yesterday at 12:04 AM (edited) I attempted the landing tutorial and as soon as the sim unpaused the engine broke. I thought I was following the instructions to the letter. I attached the track in case anyone wants to see what went wrong. Corsair Seize .trk Update: just tried it a second time and exact same thing happened Edited yesterday at 12:27 AM by dresoccer4 Acer Predator Triton 700 || i7-7700HQ || 512GB SSD || 32GB RAM || GTX1080 Max-Q || FFB II and Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle || All DCS Modules
admiki Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM (edited) Your oil temp was redlining. It took about 10 seconds to seize. Open oil flaps all the way to get that temp down. You can half close it later. Same thing happened to me if I left it closed when I took over in your track. Edited yesterday at 01:59 AM by admiki 1
Art-J Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Also, don't follow tutorial "to the letter" with cowl flaps either. Reflected built both landing missions based on real life manual (which said keep cowl flaps closed), but in DCS that will cook your cylinder heads and kill the engine. So - close them as prompted to trigger next scripted instruction but then immediately open them a little. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Yeah reflected needs to update their tutorial ASAP because it's going to completely destroy any new players coming in (myself included), especially if they don't use the forum for support. This is a glaring issue currently. EDIT: i looked on the main forum page for a sticky that would cover this info but I don't see anything. The Devs really need this information front and center asap.
