112th_8bit Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Hi All, OK I did this - opened browser and went to http://www.lockon.ru - logged in to http://www.lockon.ru - clicked the link "The LockOn: Flaming Cliffs is available!" - clicked the "Add to cart PayPal" button near the top of the page - read the licence blurb, scrolled down and clicked the "Accept" button Now the PayPal cart window appears and I see "LOCK ON 1.1: Flaming Cliffs" in the item column with the serial number (i assume thats what it is) below. I click "Secure Checkout" thinking thats where I get to pay for my download but i get a screen which says "The recipient of this shopping cart link is not an approved shopping cart user. Please review your selection and try again." Have I done something wrong or is paypal broken? So far not very impressed with the paypal method, I've never liked PayPal in the first place, strongly recommend ED don't use them if they're going to do future self-published releases...

Report you this webmaster@lockon.ru. What I was doing, got but no answer hitherto. Then I have I a further trial started and got the selfsame Message. Now I have with my PayPal account 2 EA Flaming Cliffs 1.1 for 70.00USD ordered and pays and I cannot download it. The transferal of the money of my account to PayPal lasts 3 days, I got so the message "Transaction Failed" or is this an Error for Payment on EDs Page? regards Best Regards Viper System: Intel Core i7-4790, 3,6GHz, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 2TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5, TM HOTAS Warthog;(MSFFB2 for testing); TrackIR4 +Track Clip Pro; Windows 10 Pro.
moskito Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 hi ViperVJG73, don't worry - be patient. i ordered fc1.1 yesterday with my paypal account. procedure as you described. i also got the error message, but i think that's no problem. paypal money-transfer lasts up to 4 labourdays (not weekdays!). so first of all ed has to check if your payment is on their account and then gives you the download-ok. that's how i figure the procedure. so just be patient :-). no one would give you anything if your payment was not proofed. the ordering of 2 copies (by mistake) is another thing, but i think, that ed will show goodwill to correct this. moskito
112th_8bit Posted April 8, 2005 Author Posted April 8, 2005 neither response helps me tho. I can't even get as far as logging into paypal to buy the damn thing. ED, I realise one person's opinion among many isn't that significant but I'm really not impressed with this. I want to buy your product but yet you've provided us with a rubbish system for doing so!

112th_Rossi Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 You do have to create a PayPal account before using it. Otherwise it doesn't know who you are! Its not just a case of clicking on the PayPal link and entering your card details, an account has to be created first.

112th_Rossi Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Thanks Rossi; Excuse my ignorance, but how does one create a paypal account? Just go to paypal.com and create one. When you buy FC use the password from your account. Might best to add a credit card to your account first tho.

Vosxod Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 For those who does not have #$&*(#^ PayPal accout: go to http://www.paypal.com and create your account there BEFORE going to lockon.ru site. This will allow you to have $1000 payment limit and pay for FC same day. If you go directly to lockon.ru and try to create PayPal account when you checkout from there your account will have $0 and these #$&*(#^ @#$&@ from pay pal will want you to give them your bank account additionaly to your credit card number to increase the limit. Are they out of their #$&*(#^ minds?!? What a #$&*(#^ paypal (*$#$! I had to go through all this $$ yesterday because of their #$&*(#^ system :(
Dmut Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Vosxod, please edit your post. I don't want to delete it, because of useful tip in it. "There are five dangerous faults which may affect a general: recklessness, which leads to destruction; cowardice, which leads to capture; a hasty temper, which can be provoked by insults; a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame; over-solicitude for his men, which exposes him to worry and trouble."
