dburne Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hey gang, I have been trying out some of the external view options, and from what I have seen they all seem to be pretty much fixed views. Is there a way to set an external view where it will pan around with a Track IR device? I looked through the list of view commands and cannot really see where this option might exist, but may be just missing something simple. Thanks for any help on this, Don Don B EVGA Z390 Dark MB | i9 9900k CPU @ 5.1 GHz | Gigabyte 4090 OC | 64 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz CL16 | Corsair H150i Pro Cooler |Virpil CM3 Stick w/ Alpha Prime Grip 200mm ext| Virpil CM3 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Base w/ Alpha-L Grip| Point Control V2|Varjo Aero|
Nate--IRL-- Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 No, I'm fairly certain only the mouse and the numpad keys can pan the external views. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

joey45 Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 bit like in FSX, That would be cool. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. dburne Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 Yes, I was hoping it would be somewhat similar to how it is in FSX. nemises Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I actually find it a bit annoying in IL2 (for example) to have the external view move with my trackir...means if I want to see a specific angle, I often need to twist my neck in some weird contortion.. I prefer the keys/mouse as in BS ..just my opinion though, I don't mean to imply that you're guys need isn't just as valid. I'd be surprised if there wasnt a config file that could be tweaked to define what device can move the external views ?
dburne Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 I really like the way it is set up in FSX - I have my Hat 1 on my Cougar assigned as POV. However, when my Track IR4 is running, it overrides that and I can pan around by moving my head. If I pause the Track IR, then Hat1 will take over as POV, and I can then use it to pan the view around. Kind of the best of both worlds... If there was some way to tweak a config file to make it work somewhat similarly in Black Shark I would sure be interested in it. But for now at least, I pretty much have my hands full trying to learn how to fly this beast! :) Don B EVGA Z390 Dark MB | i9 9900k CPU @ 5.1 GHz | Gigabyte 4090 OC | 64 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz CL16 | Corsair H150i Pro Cooler |Virpil CM3 Stick w/ Alpha Prime Grip 200mm ext| Virpil CM3 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Base w/ Alpha-L Grip| Point Control V2|Varjo Aero|
