Well that looks good no doubt.. But i would like to point actually few things in order to answer "my" questions in the head and at the same time -may be- give some user opinion.First of all, about the skins:They are actually quite good, so good as a starting point for new skins -actually a template would be the best option- but as color they are too light,or "hell" as you say in german.Actual F-15's are darker,close to gun grey.Your color make it look like used F-15D(F-15C with WSO) which is of course my opinion.Second thing is the animations:Stock model has the animated intakes which we can see clearly moving with the throttle..Yours doesn't..I see no animation of rudders.I don't know if just me, but brakes,canopy,gear and flap animations are quite good and i was little surprised to not see these two. I don't know if you didn't make them on purpose..Third thing:Not specific on your model mostly a general question.I see no afterburners, which i suppose removed because of the positioning.As i do not know anything about modelling now the question:Is it too hard to position the afterburners and the smoke coming out of the exhaust.. I am really curious about this because it works like charm on the 3GO SU-27 model.

I must say i'm really lookin' forward to the evolution of this model.

And regarding the color subject here is an example image..Best regards.

Hi 4c,

many thanks for your good critics. The reason I didn`t animate the rudders and intakes was simply that I believed that noone will realize it as well. Although I builded them as seperated useable parts- So I think I have to animate these sections. As for the colours: I startet with original photos about StrikeE`s over Iraq and Afghanistan . I cutted a small part of coulor away from these photos and used it as backround for my textures. The result was a complete desaster `course in LOMAC it looks like "black". So I had test with different notes to got it nearly the real look. To make it darker should be a simple operation.

The biggest problem is really the smoke and afterburner course the positions are hardcoded and I`m not be able to set them right. So my only option was to make the afterburner neutral - Well, I`de never like the burner in LOMAC. I really hope that ED will make it possible to set that thinks some day.

One more time: Thanks a lot and I`ll see what I can do for right.

You can always add afterburner as a part of the model using arguments for animation.

See Jas-39 gripen mod wich is based on mig-29g but have one afterburner cone instead of migs two :)

Actually the "gun grey color" is quite easy.I do my own skins for years now-i never release them i don't know why- i used the color for F-15C and now for your model..I still could't find time to undertstand the mapping exactly an correcting the fonts on the skin but here is how i came up as WIP.May be that can help:

Is it a whole new KC-10 model?

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

Hi:

 

I think you can get that skin from lockonfiles.com or one close to it. I used 2 skins and patched this together. This is not the dark gray as you saw but rather the combination of the 2 KC10 skins from lockonfiles.com.

I just had the pleasure to d/l the new mod of our friend Tomcatz, in this case the F-16C w/ the KC-10A. Well, to my surprise the KC-10 has a boom opr in the back and you can even take a good look at him. Excellent work, even new turbofans w/ rotating blades.

Now I was personally interested in the tanker and didn't install the F-16C yet, to be frank. In my opinion, a great shot!

Tom I can't get the viper to fly!!? the KC-10 is awesome, great work. Love the detail on the viper. Now if you can give me some idea as to why it will not fly. I tried changing the Meinit.xml file but no go. Even when I have player on it in the mission editor , it will not allow me to fly. It does appear but in AI only. I am missing something that I can't zero in on so would appreciate some help on the install method. I have lots of other mods in like terrain and a lot of skins for AI's and Hauf landing lights etc. Using FC. Really nice work Tom, enjoying the F-15strike eagle to the max.:thumbup::thumbup:

you can do following:

Open the "Meinit.xlm" with normal Windows Editor and search for "F-16C". You`ll find some datas about the weight, fuel and so stoff like that. Somewere in these datas you can find the entree: " human cockpit:"no" ". Switch that "no" into a "yes" and thats all. You can do it for all aircrafts but you allways have the thrust of two Su27 engines and the weight of the aircraft you want to fly. So specially the F-16 will have to much power :crazy:. But well- Mach2.2 in 1000feet level trough the mountains...

You can always increase Vipers weight in MEInit too...;)

Yes you can... but it won't change anything in flight, it's just about the data prompted in the ME ;)

Tried again but it only shows under Turkey as a playable F-16C and it will not show. It is visible in the mission editor but when you fly the mission track, it will not show. Does not change the F-16C under U.S., stiil shows as an AI not flyable. Tried every combination in the Meinit.xml file for both the F-16A and the F-16C and no go. Using with the F-15E mod. . Too bad. Love the look!!!!

There are somehow two F-16C's in MEINIT.xml.Check the human cockpit quotes put both to yes..Then it will work.At least that's what happened to me.
