bflagg Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Has anyone noticed.. the shadows are not jaggy like before... or is it my sight is going? stefostef can you do a quick post of a external view of the 15 (thi is what I remember best). Since there is size limitation here, just drop it on the UBI forum.. DMUT? what do you think of doing a screenshots thread for here? Thanks, Brett
bflagg Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 The shadow on the fuslage near the rudder is there but hard to make out. I was thinking more of shadow from the tail onto the body of the craft.... The shadow was always jaggy, reguardless of your AA settings....(in 1.0x) If you don't mind can you repost with the suggested view point? BTW what is your settings? (lomac and vid card setting) Thanks, Brett
JG27_Arklight Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 The shadows are still quite jaggy (no difference there). However, the SU-25T model seems to "present" the shadows better. For instance, there doesn't seem to be any anomolies or anything like that as there is on the plain-jane SU-25 in certain areas. bflagg Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 This makes me wonder now...(maybe someone from ED cares to comment)... We were informed a bit ago, that it was a DirectX8 issue and not a LockON issue. So how was it overcome (reduced?) with the SU-25T? Just curious...................... Thanks, Brett
stefostef Posted April 9, 2005 Author Posted April 9, 2005 well i post three of them and i realize that the sun was in front i will try with another angle my spec are Soltek EQ3801 M total power 250watts Athlon 64 3400+ xp SP2 1go pc 3200 X800 PRO Gigabyte GV-R80P256D Audigy2ZS( drivers beta OpenAL 1.0) 2 dd maxtor 160go sata 150 in raid 0 Track-ir 3 Saitek X45 running it at 1280x1024 all setting to high x6 x16 with catalyst 5.4
TekaTeka Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 So how was it overcome (reduced?) with the SU-25T? That is because Su-25T has more polygons. How to draw the shadow in one polygon is depending on DirectX. But the polygons increase more, the sizes of the polygons become smaller and the defect can be seen less. It's like sanding a surface. Finer file, finer face. TekaTeka from Japan [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Visit my site Beyond Visual Range.
bflagg Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 that makes sense... That explains why the shadows look a bit bumpy.. not jaggy.. thank tekateka Thanks, Brett
