Flight Sim PC Setup For Sale, includes CH Pro Controllers

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Dear Flight Sim Community,

Due to financial difficulties, I have decided to sell my Flight Sim PC Setup.

I am also selling my CH Pro Controllers, Trackir 4 and Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard.

I will include, for free, a selection of games, as well as some of the best add-ons for FSX, all on original DVD.

This could be a nice early christmas present for someone who loves simming/ gaming.

I do not want to sell this on ebay, I would rather that someone from the simming community had the chance to buy this PC.

If you are interested or have any questions, please contact me via email at toby23 AT gmx DOT net and I will do my best to help you.

This system performs great, I used Windows XP SP3, and it ran Black Shark, ArmA and FSX with all the typical add-ons and mods very well.

I built this machine myself, specifically for flight simming and gaming.

I have formatted the hard drives and installed Windows XP, the rest is up to you.

All of the original cables, the original packaging and instructions are included.

The only products that I don't have the original boxes for are the Trackir, the power supply unit, the zalman fan and the hard drives.

I also have a hard copy of the Black Shark Manual, which I will include with the PC, for free.

I would like to sell this system for:

PC Price = €700 (incl. software and games)

Extra Hardware Price = €100

Controllers Price = €400

On receipt of payment, I will send the PC/ Hardware with an International Courier (UPS, DHL) to you directly.

Please note that I cannot pay the delivery costs, this will be added to the total price.

If you live in Switzerland, you are welcome to pick the goods up from me directly.

I look after my valuables, these goods are all in excellent condition.

See the photos below for more information.

I look forward to a successful sale and making someone a happy simmer!

With Thanks,

Toby

Nice stuff, but just one point:

1.9. - Advertisement of products or services without prior consent from the forum staff is strictly prohibited.

On another note though, I would recommend an escrow service - buyer pays the escrow, who inform you that they have received the money. You send the goods, and when the buyer informs the escrow that the goods have been received the funds are made available to you.

Good practice when buying/selling on the net, to allow both parties to feel safe. :)

Sorry, I didn't see that rule...

I hope that it is ok to leave this here.

I don't know escrow but PayPal is also fine.

Please note that I would prefer to sell the PC and the Controllers together.

I do not especially want to split this package.

Thanks,

Dear Flight Sim Community,

I do not want to sell this on ebay, I would rather that someone from the simming community had the chance to buy this PC.

You would get a better response if you listed this stuff on ebay, and you would MAKE top dollar; I am a flight sim nut, and I have an ebay account. Create an auction and POST the link in this thread and I'll bid on it!

You sure are making a smart move in getting rid of your rig because NO ONE makes games exclusive for the PC any longer. Well, maybe a couple, but 99% of the game devs jumped ship and are now chasing the big console money. The games that are made for CONSOLES are all PORTED to the PC which make for a HORRIBLE playing experience.

Erroneous, Zakk.

One example is Fallout 3, which I own both for my PC and my Xbox. Graphics quality on the PC is several aeons better than the Xbox version.

Similarly, a quick off-the-top-of-my-head example of games made exclusively for PC would be Empire: Total War. Or Hearts of Iron 3.

EDIT: Oh, and DCS:Black Shark... ;)

The point is that a lot of games are made in simultaneous development for several platforms, like the COD series, Dragon Age and so on. That's not so much "porting" a codebase but rather developing it in a manner that easily translates to several platforms. The SDK for the Xbox is also very good (quoting John Carmack of ID Software - "the best SDK [he] has ever seen"), and Microsoft having stakes in both markets allows for easy portability.

What's happening isn't that developers are moving to consoles and leaving the PC as an afterthought, what's happening is that the two platforms are merging both in gaming styles and development. There are still differences though, like how the Xbox and PS3 wouldn't stand a chance in competing with the PC for raw compute power as used by study sims, nor graphics output. However, console development does allow for a lot of optimization since it's a homogenous platform - and the PC is anything but homogenous. :P

Btw, on a separate note on the software there: Empire: Total War is a Steam-forced game insofar as I recall. For this reason it won't be possible to transfer the license unless you also transfer your Steam account - which is a violation of their TOS.

Another good example would be Tom clancy's Advance Warfigter.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

I'm sorry to hear that you have to give up your hobby because of financial problems. Wish I had the funds to buy it, just to support you. :(

GRAW has no game-bound accounts. You can simply make a new account, just as you can with Crysis.

WorldInConflict forces you to give away email and login information, though, but IIRC that can be changed on the website.

The swiss version, as well as Crysis are 18+ games, though, which are not allowed to be sold on ebay. Well, I guess in the bundle nobody will notice that.
